SAE site might be at fault.

In my experience at least that was absolutely false. I had the non-Christine Twilight Time discs I wanted in my cart well before 4pm EST. I had them in there nearly all week actually as I tried to decide, which titles I wanted to get me to the $200 threshold.

When the sale began, I was able to add Christine (unsigned) and 2 copies of the signed edition (updated quantity to 2 in my cart) before checking out...all in under 5 mins or so.

If I had any idea how well the signed copies would sell, I would have added $300 to my cart for an extra copy.

There was nothing in my cart at 4. Everything was in my wishlist then I started moving them over when I saw the live link for Christine.

Got my order today and they gave me a regular copy of Christine, not the autographed one on my invoice... WTF?!?!

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

Okay I past along bad info.I know the autographed copy of Christine(150 copies) sold out in less than 5 minutes.
The other movie forum( I'm sure you all know the one I'm talking about) has 5,700+ post on Christine alone.
I'm not reading through all them post to find out what happened.

I'm really kicking myself for not trying to get a few copies of the autographed copy of Christine.I was online at the time, but did not think I had a chance to get one or two.I should have tried at least. They are selling for $250 + right now.
I did get Christine and Fury the 1st time they went on sale.

Did you check the insert or booklet?Looks like that is the part that is sign.
I rather have the outer artwork signed.

Yeah, the booklet is what was signed on my copy. Should be right along the front of the car...

What a terrible looking signature.

Most are selling for a lot less. People are listing them high but not actually selling them.

If any of you care, Major Dundee just went up for preorder.

I would have balked at paying $40.25 for a single Blu-ray release if not for those Christine profits. Can't wait to watch this in high definition.

There are very few catalog titles I want now, so that's how I'm rationalizing the Twilight Time cost. Body Double is probably my favorite De Palma movie as well.

It's worth it to me, but I totally understand where others are coming from...

Gotta, gotta have Sleepless in Seattle. I just hope they continue with porting over the special features like they did with Christine, because I hate have to make combo packs.

Sleepless In Seattle is not a big enough movie to have a normal studio release? Even though I wouldn't buy it, I just find that quite odd.

I may have to make Body Double my first Twilight Time buy. Definite guilty pleasure of mine. I watched it over and over again as a kid on HBO strictly for the nudity. :)

I feel the same way! Now maybe their won't be a mad rush to buy up every copy like Christine. But I'd hate to miss out on the release, since it is one film I'd love to own on the format.

I haven't bought The Fury yet, since I've never seen the entire film before, and can't really justify the cost at the moment. So I hope that's still available months from now depending on my financial situation.

If you have the Fox Movie Channel, it occasionally shows up there.

I'll stick with my UK Region B copy. Unless they release it with OAR, unlike the UK one.

IMDb says that the OAR for Sexy Beast is 2.35:1, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong. I saw this in the theater, and I don't remember it being wider than 1.85:1.

I'm trying to remember myself. I just remember reading a long time ago that the UK disc had a different OAR.

Why So Blu? 04-02-13 10:20 PM

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

I was hoping Body Double would get some sort of special treatment like DePalma's other flicks have been getting recently. Even Dressed to Kill had some decent special features and a commentary. Body Double should have been a given to receive some love on the Blu-ray format. hopefully there will be a decent import at some point like the one that's being worked on for The Fury, which is why I never picked up the TT release.

Re: The Official Twilight Time Blu-ray Thread

As far as Sexy Beast go, did the HD-DVD import have the correct aspect ratio? I'd get that over getting this release if it has the wrong ratio.

That was one of the first DVD releases too. Seems like that's one movie everybody loved. Shows how backwards Sony is still thinking- they help push DVD onto the market, did a reasonably good job but then started putting out lower-quality releases and reissuing older titles with only the 4x3 pan and scan versions included. Then they push Blu-Ray on the market, do an OK job and now license out movies they own to other companies. Seems my words held true in an angry letter I wrote to Sony when they began dropping widescreen transfers from their DVDs: "I'm fully aware of the upcoming high-definition formats, but even if Sony puts out high-quality product there I will doubt your ability to consistently do so."
