I just watched Avatar WOW.
I think this script was written by a bunch of 8th graders. Yikes!
Probably the best looking movie I’ve ever seen. Amazing.
the 3-D is incredible.

The Amazon version should be identical except for the lenticular cover insert.

It IS considered one of the worst movies of all time. But if they were able to shoot it in 3D, then ANY movie can.

If you pre-ordered Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 from Amazon Japan, the shipping rate has dropped.
For the standard release, you can cancel and re-order. Any other versions (Steelbook) are OOS, so you'll have to use chat.
I had 75 points from Quantumania to apply too. Mine came out to about $65 was $83

Hamilton Book added a bunch of 3D titles for $4.95 and (mostly) $5.95. Link!

Got Jurassic World: Dominion 3D last week for $40 at Amazon. Wish I hadn't bothered because the 3D was a joke. No pop-out effects at all (no surprise) and the added depth was very minimal and all behind the screen. There were many times where I saw no 3D effect whatsoever, especially during dark scenes. Another shoddy conversion. When will I learn to stop getting my hopes up? If you like this movie, buy a 2D version of it for less.

I can confirm that Dragonfly Squadron and Hugo look fantastic in 3D.
I had Sin City and the Sharks one years ago, but I can't remember how good the 3D was on those, so I guess they didn't make as big of an impression as the other two.
Also, I see Drive Angry is on that list. It is a ridiculously silly and fun kick ass movie and the 3D is awesome in it.

I hadn't tried to watch a 3D movie on my projector in a long time, but I'm in the middle of a Transformers marathon with my son and have a couple of those movies in 3D, so I figured it was time to get that working again.
Dark of the Moon is decent and has some very effective 3D at times, but overall depth usage seemed timid and I didn't spot any pop-outs. [Edit: Looking at it again, it seems there is some mild pop-out with debris from explosions flying toward the camera.] The image was also quite dim on my screen, which led me to assume the aging lamp in my projector isn't capable of pumping out enough brightness for 3D anymore.
However, Age of Extinction 3D is fantastic. The picture is much brighter (the 3D disc was mastered with a deliberate brightness boost compared to the 2D copy) and the 3D much stronger. Just about every scene in the movie has impressive depth. It even has some cool pop-outs at times. This one made me feel much better about 3D on my screen.

Well, Random Space Media in Australia just announced they're going out of business. They were the last hope for most recent 3D titles. Glad I bought all the ones they put out at least. Will have to get Super Mario Bros on Vudu now, and be thankful I can at least get it that way.

I always wondered if Random Space would survive, considering how few titles they actually released.

There’s a company in Germany that just said they’ll be picking up some Universal 3D titles so we’ll see how that goes. Watched Mario on Vudu and thought it was great even though the resolution was lacking. It seems they are actually using side by side even on the apps that support 3D, so don’t know why they can’t just make those playable on everything.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Watched BIOHAZARD: DAMNATION 3D last night (known over here as RESIDENT EVIL: DAMNATION). It’s the second feature-length CG animated film in that series, from 2012, and I believe the only one created and released in 3D, and as far as I know only on 3D Blu-ray in Japan, which is where mine came from. I wasn’t sure if it was some kind of post-conversion, but then recalled that that wasn’t really necessary with these types of CG pictures, as aside from a few dodgy bits that don’t quite ‘read’ properly (wet pavement in dark parking garage; smog/dust in a church) it’s a great watch in 3D – especially during the spectacular final battle – and for my money one of the best entries in both the CG and live-action series. No pop-outs for the first 20 minutes or so, but then some excellent ones regularly after that (knives, guns, creature tentacle thingies). I don’t know shit about the games, but apparently these animated movies take place in between various releases, so others may benefit from that but this one’s still good fun for the rest of us.
