Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Random Space Media in Australia just announced that they will be putting out Spider-Man No Way Home, after Sony had given it the shaft. They also recently put out Dolittle which wasn’t shown in 3D anywhere in the US.

Well I'll be damned, Random Space Media does it again! Haven't seen the movie yet, so this it great. Figured a 3D release wasn't in the cards and I'd be stuck buying the 2D version or signing it out from the library here, and have come close a couple of times. Gives me hope that DOCTOR STRANGE 2 will get the treatment, even if only in Japan like the others.

Just placed an order for Spider-man NWH and Boss Baby 2 via RSM. I haven't seen No Way Home yet, so I guess I'll be holding off until it arrives.

Was hoping sooner, but beggars can’t be choosers. Now, I’ll have all Spideys, including Spider-Verse, and except the original trilogy in 3D. And this being my favorite, it’s double win.

Just put in an order for SM3 & Doolittle

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Thanks for the heads-up on BOSS BABY 2 and DOLITTLE. Didn’t know those were available. Haven’t seen BB2 yet, so like NWH it will be nice to see that in 3D first. Really not a fan of DOLITTLE, but I suppose I can skim through it for worthwhile sequences.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Universal issued Boss Baby 2 only in Germany and South Korea for some reason (it's also been available on Vudu in the US), then Random Space got it a few months after that. Sing 2 hasn't gotten a 3D disc anywhere so hope Random Space can get that.

Those of you who order Spider-Man: No Way Home, when you get it could you post here to confirm the aspect ratio? Curious whether it's constant 2.35:1 (like the 2D releases) or variable ratio like the IMAX release.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Treasure of the Four Crowns (3D)...i can truly say, what an utterly crappy movie with the worst acting and script i have seen in my life or at least a very long time. the whole movie takes place in one room where all they do is set it up so they can rob it and people die in the process even! the payoff was shit as well. Nothing as i remembered as a kid, nothing. But, the 3D was spectacular! made me go cross-eyed more than once.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Random Space sent an email out. Spider-Man: No Way Home 3D will be Region B locked.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Still in, but makes you wonder what Sony’s point is, unless they’re taking a wait-and-see approach to see how this one sells before deciding on a Region A release? Or waiting even longer to see whether Avatar 2 results in renewed interest in 3D at home?

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.
Haven't seen Random Space region lock any discs but no problem for me anyways. Most recent discs from Sony themselves haven't been region-locked, maybe they're just making sure enough people still hate them even when letting this be put out. Got plenty of other region B-only 3D titles that only got 2D releases in region A.
Treasure of the Four Crowns was the first polarized 3D movie I ever saw, and me and my friend I saw it with agreed that it was the absolute best movie we had ever seen. I've only watched it once after that in 2D on CED videodisc (but in Dolby Surround which the theater we went to didn't have), I have the Blu-Ray on the way and I'll likely stand by that claim. It's from the same people who made Comin' At Ya but with more of a plot. |

Lame, I am out on Spiderman I guess. WTF Sony?

Suck Fony.
I truly believed Treasure of the Four Crowns was the BEST MOVIE I’d ever seen, period, but keep in mind I was 10 years old. I thought it had everything Raiders of the Lost Ark had, plus it was in 3D, so what’s not to love? I have a feeling I’ll see its “absolute garbage-ness” more this time around, but we’ll see. |

I read on thedigitalbits.com that Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to be all region: "Random Space Media in Australia is officially going to be releasing Jon Watts’ Spider-Man: No Way Home on Blu-ray 3D in July or August (the final street date is TBA). To our knowledge, this is the only place you’ll be able to get the title in Blu-ray 3D, and the good news is that the disc will be all region."

As noted in above posts, Random Space sent out an email correction a couple days ago saying that it is Region B locked. And the Random Space website also now shows it Region B locked. |
