No. You should check other sources to see if the disc you're ordering is region-free.

ok, thanks. was wondering about their Tomb Raider 3D (2018). Amazon.uk says B, but we know how their listings usually work in the beginning...

Zavvi only does exclusive packaging, they don't manufacture the discs. Amazon UK is a bad source for the Region info, maybe check Blu-ray.com for something more accurate.

ok, that only says Region B (A,C not tested). thanks.

No website is going to have accurate info for that disc until it's been released. Blu-ray.com tends to get pretty accurate reports soon after release. The UK Blu-ray 3D doesn't come out until July 16.

If you're keen on pre-ordering, you could get it from a region-A country. YesAsia has a listing for a Korean 3D/2D Blu-ray for $42, as well as a 4K/3D/2D combo set for $56. Korea is region A, same as the US.

Interesting that not more stores are carrying the US 3D version. I thought it might be a Walmart exclusive, but DVDEmpire has a listing:

Well it is Warner, and someone (in this thread, I believe) replying to a comment I made about Warner 3Ds, said that Warner releases were all region.

Just got Warner's Geostorm 3D for my son from AmazonUK which listed it as region free. Haven't watched it yet and the packaging says nothing about any region coding, so... Got it with Sony's Jumanji 3D whose packaging does indicate all regions.

Best Buy also had it listed for a few weeks, but now it's sold out.

Yes, Warner Bros. does not use region locking on Blu-ray.

On any Blu-ray? Ever?

I'm not aware of any. Warner gave up the idea of region locking when they backed HD DVD during the format war and never implemented it on Blu-ray.

Based on this site, at least 2% of Warner Blu-ray releases are region-locked.
http://regionfreemovies.com/studio/Warner

For example, this French 2009 Blu-ray of Agora:
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Agora-.../#RegionCoding

It looks to be mostly foreign titles where they may only have the rights in certain regions, so something like Tomb Raider will likely be region free, but it's not an absolute guarantee that a Warner title won't be region locked.

Regardless, it's incredibly rare. The 2% cited on that site is literally 2 discs out of a sample size of 100.

A title like Tomb Raider for which Warner has worldwide distribution is virtually guaranteed to be region-free.

The full stats are at the top of the page:
http://regionfreemovies.com/studio/Warner

Total Releases: 502
Region Locked: 15
Region Free: 375
Unconfirmed: 112
So it's 15/502, or about 2.98%. The pie chart rounds it up to 3%.

Still, there's 112 unconfirmed, or about 22%, which is why the estimate of region free titles is "74% to 97%." If all those unconfirmed are region locked, then only 74% are region free, or if no other discs are region locked, about 97% of their titles are region free.

"Virtually" being the operative word here. Buying the US 3D release, which is coming out sooner, seems the better option.

Tomb Raider will be region-free. There is no need to fret about that.

Solo: A Star Wars Story 3D (region free) is up for pre-order at amazon.com.uk. I'm assuming Disney won't bother releasing this in the U.S., so I went ahead and ordered it.

So should I plan to get Ready Player One 3D from Amazon UK?

At $48? Not happening.

It's £19.99 at AmazonUK. That'll come out to about $25 U.S. Even with shipping it'll be less then $30.

Like Tomb Raider and Ready Player One it's listed as region B, so...

Interestingly, Tomb Raider's studio is listed as Whv (for Warner Home Video, I presume), instead of Warners. Wonder if that has any significance?

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

Warner's is ridiculous with these sale prices over on Amazon - do they really think they can sustain themselves, and the format, by pricing the discs so high.

Most Warner's releases from the UK are region free and the region B denotion from Amazon and Zavvi and most of the time inaccurate.

I just ordered the French 4K/3D deluxe edition of 'Ready Player One'

it's gonna go down. way down. it's still, barely, in theaters. it's just a place holder price...

Tomb Raider 3D just dropped down to $20.90 at Walmart.com. I just pricematched at Target.
