I've never seen it go below around $30 for the most part. You may want to check for a used copy via 3rd party sellers, and I remember seeing Hastings have it for sub $20.

We watched Coraline this afternoon and the 3D looked phenomenal. I forgot how much I loved that movie.

Re: The Official "3D" Blu ray Thread. Now with Smell-O-Vision.

So, I just got the Shout Factory Amityville Horror Trilogy box set and while I enjoyed watching Amityville 3-D in 3-D I'd like to watch the 2-D print as well. How can I select it?

I read somewhere that the disc recognizes a 3-D Blu-Ray player and automatically defaults to the 3-D version, but what if I don't want to watch it in 3-D? I know I can push the 3-D button on my TV to "Stop Watching 3-D" and it'll play it 2-D. However, I'm pretty sure that there must be some other way to actually access the 2-D Menu and version of of the film from the disc itself?

Any advise?

If the disc doesn't have a 2D option on the main menu, you'll have to disable 3D on your player's setup menu- though I don't know why you would want to do that...

That worked. Never had a reason to look for that option in the player before. Thanks!

Agree about the movie though. It's pretty crap in 2D but watching it in 3D was a hoot!

Not exactly the best movie to start with, but at least they are on the right track.

Angry Birds is coming out with a 4K+3D+Blu Ray+UV bundle. It's also the only way you can get the 3D version. Hopefully other movies follow suit.

If they can bring that price down to $19-99-24.99, every title that has all of those options will get me buying every time. Still, $29.99 isn't a bad price at all for the pre-order.

Did anyone pick up Kung Fu Panda 3 in 3D? I was wondering how the 3D is and if it's worth getting.

Bought KFP but likely won't have time to watch it for years!

I'll buy Angry Birds with the 4K disc, but as long as that's in 2D it'll be as useless as the regular DVD that comes in many sets.

Thought I'd post this here, but I recently decided to join the Disney Movie Club and did their promo where you get the 5 movies for a $1 each and 2 more at their promo price. Finally picked up some of those blu-ray exclusives. But what surprised me was that they seem to have a lot of their good 3D titles for either $17.95 or $23.95. This includes the OOP of Finding Nemo and Nightmare Before Christmas, both for $23.97 each.

Iron Man 3 is also $23.97. So this may be a good route to take if you want to grab some good Disney 3D titles. And having exclusive blu's on their site always helps justify joining.

So... you'll buy an item that you know will be useless to you... why, exactly?

Because that's the only way to get the 3D disc that I want. If they sold it separately, I'd buy that.

The 3D only comes with the 4K? Wow- unusual release!

Actually, that's exactly the case with Angry Birds. There's no separate 3D blu ray release. The only way to get it is to get the 4K set.

I'd rather have the two markets united than competing against each other, at least.

I agree. If they're only going to produce one "premium" edition for a 3D movie, it should include the 3D version and the UHD version.

But it should REALLY include UHD *IN* 3D, which doesn't exist yet but should.

Caught this in Savant's column, but thought it was worth posting here (and supporting, too!). Unseen, at least in 3D, for over 50 years:

^Yep. I supported it. I should have posted about it here but didn't think about it.

Just watched this the other day. I don't remember any "oh wow" moments, but it had the constant slight 3D going in, which is what I like about the technology. It immerses me into the film a bit more than 2D.
