That makes more sense although people that don't pay too much attention to the story, most notably females, don't always know these things. At least my wife didn't. She also didn't know Chancellor Palpatine would turn into the Emperor at the end of Episode III.

Best Buy is also selling this for $22.99. Looks like that will be the lowest price next week.

Meh. $12ish and I'll bite. It was good, but not $23 good.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

I got my copy at the big K this morning. Of course, that was after waiting about 20 minutes for someone to bring the X-men display out from the stockroom. They only got in 4 copies.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Anyone else getting a stuttering issue. I got the Target version and I'm playing it on my PS3 (which is updated) and the picture freezes randomly for a few seconds and then resumes playback like normal. The audio remains uninterrupted.

I don't have another Blu-ray player to test it on. I was figuring that it may be a disc that needs a firmware update to play ...or I could just have a bad copy.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

I snagged the Magneto slipcover version at Best Buy this morning. I know that the slipcover has both images, but there is definitely a front side and a back side...

My copy is playing fine on my Panasonic BDT210.

Where is the issue specifically? I bought the Target exclusive and I do own numerous Blu-ray players with a PS3 being one of them.

When I went to Target around 9am, they had no copies out. I had to grab one from the electronics counter and the box maybe had 20 copies total.

Walmart is carrying a non-digital copy version. Pic from blu-ray.com:

It happened randomly throughout the first 20 minutes or so of the movie that I actually watched (I stopped watching it cause it was getting annoying, but I'm sure it would have continued throughout the film). Funny thing is that if I rewound the part that it does it in, it will play normally. And it didn't keep happening at the same spots if I rewound far enough.

It's not happening with any other Blu-ray's. Just this one.

It looks like it's happening right before a camera change to where it will freeze on the last frame before the switch and then resynch itself to the audio (which stays uninterrupted) a few seconds later. The timing of it is irregular and inconsistent.

It's doing the exact same thing on my PS3 too, which is only a few weeks' old. Running 3.70, updated as much as it can be, and the Blu Ray keeps stuttering. Almost at the end now and it's been consistent throughout just like you stated, no interruption of sound but the video catches. Very annoying. :/

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Came in to see if anyone else was having PS3 versions. Picked the movie up for my wife today and it won't load at all on my new PS3, which I just bought yesterday. The little wheel gets going at the top right corner, the screen goes black and nothing else happens. Wonder if this is due to Fox or Sony. Idiots.

You couldn't watch the disc without the Picture-in-Picture mode being enabled.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

It was a Sony firmware that caused that, no?

Specifically the PS3 3.5 update and the only way it was fixed was via the exchange program.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

K, just got it working on my 160Gb PS3. Here's what worked for me... disable the internet connection, then go into the BD utility and delete the 3 Mb file the movie creates on your hard drive. Seems to be working fine after doing that.

Same problem here on my PS3 but this did work as a fix.

Re: X-Men: First Class - 9/9/11

Ha! I came into this thread to see if others were having a problem playing this flick on their PS3's, and DVD Talk delivered!

I was going through the special features just fine until I gave the BD Live option a try. The screen went black and there was nothing I could do to get the disc playing properly again until I deleted out the BD Utility file as suggested. Thanks!

Was it the Target on Flamingo and Grand Canyon? I was there at 6pm, and they still didn't have any out. All the copies were still hidden behind the electronics counter.

Awesome! Wouldn't have thought to do that. I'll check to see if it works. Thanks!
