A new transfer and a 90 minute doc squashed onto a single 25G disc? Pass. Even on a dual-layered disc, I'd be worried.

Evil Dead 2 is a pretty short flick and I'm betting a lot of the older docs were shot on standard def video anyway. It might all fit just fine.

Do we know for certain that it's single-layer?
As a point of reference, does anyone know how much room the first film took up on the Blu-ray?
An 84 minute movie given a full layer of a Blu-Ray (with the special features on the 2nd layer) would be fine.

Well that'd be a hit or miss on trying to get an actual figure cuz of what this one would be consider how it looked on the original. If this is a better looking transfer that'll make it a bigger size on the BD.

I'm 90% sure this new version will be a dual-layered release - I don't see Lionsgate putting out a Blu-ray with both a movie and a feature length HD documentary on a single-layered Blu. I don't know why people would assume otherwise.

To compare this with another Lionsgate title that Michael Flesher worked on, The Monster Squad which contains an 82 minute film in 1080p with a DTS-HD MA 5.1 track alongside another 120 minutes of bonus material in 1080p. All on a BD-50 and it's the best the film has ever looked.
Again, as I said earlier, if you're doubting this release, you're out of your fucking mind. Flesher is someone we can trust. He was apart of Anchor Bay's glory days with Lustig. He did this title well once in his life (the LE tin edition), I'm sure he won't let us down again.

I'll gladly pick this up as I only have the Book of the Dead DVD version of this movie and never bothered to pick up the first Blu-ray version. Love the cover as well!

18.6 GB for the OAR (1.37:1) encode, 18.7 GB for the MAR (1.85:1) encode. 170 minutes of 1080p material on a disc that take up a total of less than 40GB... and both versions look magnificent.

I'm glad I waited on it, and I LOVE the cover. I have the Book of the Dead DVD and the normal special edition DVD, but I waited on the blu, I saw no reason to upgrade, but now? Definitely.

One of my friends is working on this disc, and he just posted a FB message saying it's "going to be very special, like, "Never Sleep Again" special, and fans will be very pleased." He was one of the main guys behind that Nightmare on Elm St. doc, so if he says it's going to rock, it's going to rock.

Never Sleep Again forever spoiled me on any Horror Docs I watch from now on.

Three weeks to go and they haven't even announced the special features yet, have they? Doubt there will be a review up anytime soon.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the list of bonus material.

This is the first time the original negative was used to create a home video transfer for this title, and it shows!
