It's just 3 discs for the movies. There is an insert with the codes to download the digital copies.

Damn sorry to hear that. I'd offer my codes but I'm in the process of moving and just packed up my blu's. If no one else helps out, get back with me in a couple weeks.

I'm sure Universal would send you codes if you asked, and proved you actually bought the set by e-mailing a receipt. I know they did that for me once. I'm sorry I can't remember the e-mail address or I'd post it. Or you could exchange at Fry's.

Thanks, I was going to look up the Universal customer service page and send them just that. I got the copy from Fry's online, but I've never returned something from online to a store before. I'm going to stop by later today, so I'll see if doing that is an option. If all else fails, I can bother Tom :).

I've found Universal's customer service to extremely responsive and helpful for problems such as this. If you decide to contact them, here's their info:

Watched Lost World last night. Same with JP. Could have looked better, but still a pretty good transfer. The audio is the highlight again. These are terrific 7.1 mixes.

Anyone else find a new appreciation for The Lost World? I'd only seen it twice before and remember hating it...now it's not bad at all. I wonder if that's more a relflection on the kind of "blockbusters" that get made these days than to actually how good the movie is. Or maybe just because I'm older now.

I remember watching it over and over when i was a kid. Only at the final gymnastics I would get annoyed.

I love The Lost World. I saw it twice opening weekend. It has a few issues, but still an exciting adventure. That 15 minute sequence with the 2 T-Rex and the trailer is as thrilling as anything in the entire series. An extremely well diagrammed and edited scene.

Goldblum's daughter isn't as annoying to me as she used to be. And Jurassic Park 3 has caused me to marginally accept the ridiculousness of her kicking the raptor. At least in Lost World, you have a girl who is a gymnast, using gymnastics to kick a raptor to its death. I do find that a tad more plausible than what they did in JP3 by having the kid turn into John Rambo and surviving on the island for 2 months and not showing a hint of being completely scared out of his mind.

No, I still have a low opinion of it. I was thinking after all these years that I could look at it with a new set if eyes, but I had the same let down feeling as when I first saw it. I don't think it's bad, but not by any means a great or even good sequel. It seems like a wasted opportunity to expand on the original story.

I think that Lost World is better than III. Effects-wise, anyways. The best parts of Lost World, to me, were when the T-Rex was walking through the neighborhood, the baby T-Rex eating the guy at the end, and scene at the end where it showed all the different kinds of dinosaurs just hanging out together. In III, the effects, except for the actual animatronic dinosaurs, looked like they didn't even try.

Amazon is selling the set right now for $30. $10 less then what Best Buy said they were selling it for this week.

Part III does have a scene showing a pack of raptors running at full speed that is very impressive and a first for the series.

I'm really torn on getting this since at Amazon it's still at $30.00. Even though I have the "DVD" versions that have held up well I wouldn't mind at all getting the better audio mixes which seem to be the highlight of the set.

Did anyone else notice the soap opera effect while watching this set? Throughout the three films, I thought I noticed it during a lot of the outdoor scenes (the indoor and night scenes looked normal), but I also thought some of the scenes look like they were shot with a different camera, so maybe that was how it was supposed to look. I really can't recall from the DVD (or from the theater) how the movies originally looked, but I did compare a couple scenes from my DVD of Jurassic Park III and it looks like the effect was also present on the DVD (or at least what I thought was the soap opera effect) but it wasn't as noticeable as on the Blu-ray.
