For clarification, the Blu-ray does in fact have a lossless track; DTS-HD MA 2.0 to be exact.
However, since the retards at AVS and Blu-ray.com think everything should be remixed in 5.1, people ignore the fact that films like Halloween II were originally mixed in stereo. |

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
From the Blu-ray.com Halloween II thread, which has completely unraveled. (Do they even have mods there?)
http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l2...t/DSC00410.jpg (Terror in the Aisles) is 1.85:1 or maybe 1.78:1 and looks fantastic, Full 1080p too which was a surprise as I thought it might have been interlaced. It's had a full restoration. As for Halloween II itself it looks gorgeous, Colour and contrast are bang on there is loads of fine detail and best of all Universal haven't DNR'ed it to oblivion like most of their catalogue releases. |

I like how BD-Live (a trailer portal) and a useless App gets more space then the actual Special Features (for a film which generally has been treated like shit in that department).

They've always treated their two entries of the franchise like shit, why stop now? |

I remember my Dad actually letting me watch TITA as a teen but he edited out all the minor nudity in it. He did that with all films. :( |
Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
Thanks for the price update on Amazon. I missed the $12.99 the first time and was holding off hoping it would drop again too.

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
Barnes & Noble has the pre-order for $11.99. I'm wondering if it will show up cheaper in a B&M ad next week...

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
I doubt it will be in any ad, but I have a feeling it will be found for $9.99 to $12.99

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
Now that it's back to $12.99, I preordered. These reviews have me far too excited.

Another one I can't wait to get lol At least we're getting some deleted material, this time :)

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
Since it's a special feature on this BD, I'll mention it here. Cinemax HD just aired Terror in the Aisles about 1 month ago. For a film/documentary thats almost 27 years old, I thought the transfer was actually quite good. Although the film does show it's age and there is some really bad acting in the theatre segments featuring Pleasance and Allen. I'm looking forward to seeing it on the BD.

Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
Surprised that we haven't seen any reviews yet - with this being on the shelves early, I thought there would at least be some screencaps floating around.
|
Re: Halloween II -- 9/13/11
I went ahead and pre-ordered it now that the price has gone down. It's not nearly as good as the first Halloween, but I still enjoy watching it, especially during the Horror Challenge.
Terror In The Aisles in HD is also a big plus... |

They're too busy giving it to FYEs which put it out early...not my FYE though, of course.

How much were they at FYE and BB?
