Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June

Anyone know why Amazon is listing this for May 3, instead of May 31? Data entry typo? Obviously, the former date would be cool (and either would be fine); I just want to know which to expect.

I'm diggin the cover. The DVD release had a generic look to it. This feels more in line with how I'd expect an alternate poster to look.

It's in my amazon gold box today for $15.19. Pre-ordered it in case a better deal doesn't show up down the road.

I wonder if the BD will fix the sound issue on the DVD. Anyone else notice a high-pitched ringing during many scenes? It annoyed the hell out of me.

It occurs intermittently throughout, so I couldn't list specific scenes for you. It's faint, but just high enough that I can hear it beneath the track. Those with a discerning ear may know what I'm talking about. I have a friend who also noted it, so it's definitely there.

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June

FYI, today's B&M prices for the BD:

Best Buy $19.99 (will match online price of $15.99)
Target: $17.99
Walmart: $15.00
Costco: $14.99

Most stores had 3-6 copies each w/slipcases.

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June

Watched this today. Absolutely gorgeous. I still noticed the audio issue. It's most apparent during some of Frank's scenes with Morton, and especially during the auction with Keenan Wynn. Kind of like a ringing sound. Still, it's one of the best BDs I own. Flawless film.

I'm gonna watch this tomorrow. Is it apparent on both English audio tracks?

Yes. I switched between both 5.1 and mono and it remained. I'm thinking it may be inherent to the source.

was wondering about that. If true, semi sad to see that it's the actual source over...but if it's the source..you're still getting the best of what it has...which still fucking amazing.

Is it ringing up in-store @ $19.99?

Yep. I didn't think to check until after I had walked out of the store and sure enough it had rung up for $19.99. So I had to go back and have customer service adjust it.

I watched this today w/the mono track. Didn't hear anything wrong. Perfect cinema.
