Once Upon a time in the West in June
Saw this listed at Bluray.com for September. This has to have a killer soundtrack. With all of that great music in this movie, that alone would make me buy this one over again in bluray.

Awesome! I have been waiting for this news.

re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
Was just watching clips from this, and listening to parts of the score at youtube...and wondering about a BD release and when it might happen! I have the DVD, and this has become one of my favorite westerns.

re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
It's my favorite western and also what i think is the greatest western ever made. Damn thing is a painting in motion. I can't say enough about this film. My favorite Morricone score easily. Love Fonda and Bronson in this. This better have all the features from the DVD. LOVE the commentary on it. Actually...I love everything about SE DVD we got.

Someone needs to fix the thread. Article at Blu-Ray says West in June, Breakfast at Tiffany's in September.

re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
"Speaking with the French magazine Les années laser, Sylvie Collombet, chief of marketing of Paramount France, revealed two major titles that are on the studio's slate for Blu-ray release: Once Upon a Time in the West and Le Mans will come out in June, and Breakfast at Tiffany's in September.
Note that these titles may not be released in all territories. On the other hand, Collombet also said: 'We can't confirm a release date for the Indiana Jones Quadrilogy.'" Nothing indicates that those dates are expressly for a US release. But exciting nonetheless as hopefully a French release will make the release here inevitable. |

Nice! Glad I never bought the DVD now.

Great, great film. I saw a restored print a few years back and it looked stellar.

I hope both titles get released, as both would definitely find a place in my collection. Breakfast At Tiffany's in particular, since that could open the door for other "Centennial Collection" titles, like Sunset Blvd. or Chinatown, to get Blu-Ray releases... |
Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
Nice news on Tiffany's, although I'm content with my West DVD. I'm sure that even if these do get a stateside release, Paramount will discontinue them in a couple of years.

My #3 favorite film of all-time... yea, I'm pretty excited.

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
Official release date in the USA: May 31. Looks like the DVD extras will be carried over. From Blu-ray.com:
"Paramount Home Entertainment has announced no fewer than four western movies from its late-60s and early-70s catalog for Blu-ray release on May 31, in time for Father's Day: Big Jake (George Sherman, 1971), A Man Called Horse (Elliot Silverstein, 1970), Once Upon a Time in the West (Sergio Leone, 1968) and Rio Lobo (Howard Hawks, 1970). "Special features have been listed only for Once Upon a Time in the West and they include: * Commentary featuring directors John Carpenter, John Milius and Alex Cox, film historians Sir Christopher Frayling and Dr. Sheldon Hall plus cast and crew * An Opera of Violence * The Wages of Sin * Something to Do with Death * Railroad: Revolutionising the West * Locations Then & Now * Production Gallery * Theatrical Trailer (in HD) * Easter Egg – New Trailer" |

The existing extras are great -- glad to see they'll carry over

Never caught up with this movie. I'm in.

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
Well, I'm thrilled that this was confirmed for a US release. I will definitely snag this.

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
According to The Digital Bits, this will include both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film. I wonder if this willl be the 165-minute cut, or the 171-minute Italian cut? I'll assume the former, as that's what the DVD had. Who would ever want to watch the butchered 140 min. theatrical cut?

Re: Once Upon a time in the West in June
The European cover looks fantastic, I hope the US cover will be the same thing. You can see it on Bluray.com. I tried to upload it here but it didn't work for me.
