Amazon has Conan up for sale on 8/2. Conan the Destroyer also on the same day.
the Destroyer obviously isn't as good as the first movie but i'll be getting both on release day anyway.
Hopefully they'll be WORTH the up grade to bluray and I won't be wasting my time with this becuse this
has been one of my favorite movies of all time. So this bluray release better be worth it.

Seeing as how the DVD for Barbarian was 2.0 only, and Destroyer wasn't even anamorphic. I'd say both of these are bound to be improvements.

Sweet. Knowing that this has the commentary, I'll be buying both. Barbarian is far and away my favorite Schwarzenegger film (With Commando a close 2nd).

Watched Conan the Destroyer last night. Great transfer. The audio is solid, although the rears weren't used all that much (other than ambient background noise). Still the dialog and score sound great.
Can't wait to watch Barbarian this weekend.
Anyone waiting for a quality release of these flicks, should be pleased.

Hey, just a heads up about the "Barbarian" Blu...a number of folks have contacted me about an audio problem that seems to affect portions of the score. After confirming it, I have updated my review. It's not a deal-breaker IMO, but if you're a die-hard fan of the film it's worth knowing about.

Disappointing to hear about the audio issue, and the lack of the International cut. IIRC, wouldn't that mean this version omits Conan punching the horse?

They effed up the choral section????? Unbelievable...
Somebody should mix in the remastered version of the Conan the Barbarian score from last year. That recording is a beast...

Ugh, it irritates me that this doesn't have the full intl. cut. and not the end of the world, but why no extras for Destroyer?
