Re: James Bond Update

FYI for those looking for the Target exclusive singles:

I went to Target this morning and none were shelved, but they did have shelf space allotted for them. I asked the media guy and he came out with one copy of each. I asked him if that's all they got and he said yes, so if you want these, I would get out to Target now, if this store is any indicator of how many of these the rest of the stores are getting. Not sure if it will be the same with Walmart or BB.

Re: James Bond Update

I saw none of the Bond exclusives at my Walmart, but they apparently will have a cardboard display with their exclusives and the other previously available single releases.

Re: James Bond Update

No sign of them at all at 2 Best Buys I checked. One copy each at Target. They pulled the Walmart titles from the back for me, so I could not ascertain their stock level. If anyone finds them at BB, please report.

Re: James Bond Update

Why am I not shocked that no one seems to be finding anything at the organization leader, Best Buy?

Re: James Bond Update

When are the singles supposed to release wide - is it next year?

There are a few more I might want but for now View to a Kill and Living Daylights were the ones I really wanted. Not going to bother wasting time and gas hunting these if the retailers are going to half-ass it.

Re: James Bond Update

If anyone finds these at BB, please check the price expiration date on the shelf tag. Would be nice to pick these up next week during the U&S.

Re: James Bond Update

Someone on blu-ray.com said a Best Buy manager found in their computer system that their Bond exclusives aren't releasing until 10/23. Which means that is after the trade and save program.

I love the way the home video market works (is "works" the right word?) - all these companies want our money, yet we're constantly having to do detective work to figure out any way to give it to them. And it's been this way for decades.

Re: James Bond Update

Nothing at the Best buys or Walmarts near me, was only able to find the 3 Target exclusives. Odd that 1 was $14.99 while the other 2 were $9.99.

Re: James Bond Update

This launch of exclusives is basically a disaster. I've read several instances where customers had to get Target employees to dig around in the stockroom to get their titles, and the store received 1 copy each. 1!

I spoke with my local WM Electronics Dept. Mgr and she said they didn't get the cardboard display or the Bond titles. Not even their own damn exclusives.

See post 303! You hit it on the head.

I would have shelled out for the whole 007 set but I like individual cases on my shelves not these big bulky boxes.

I totally agree with you, and I also am not a fan of the slip-into-cardboard disc holders. I am going to try to find the last 9 Bonds to go with my other 13.

Yeah, checked at my Best Buy and nothing. Got the ones at Wal-Mart and Target (where I snagged the last copies).

Consider yourself lucky Movieman - those were probably the only copies.

Apparently especially knowing, when I visited Best Buy, that someone else had come in inquiring about their store exclusives. No doubt his next stop was at Target (which isn't far away from BB).

Given the limited* supply at Target, absolutely.

* meaning only 1 copy of each.

I was afraid of this happening. I won't be able to check my local stores till about 6pm, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yes. It's my favorite so hopefully it's not as bad as it sounds.
