Amazon has now matched Best Buy's $149.99 price.

Wow, less than 20 minutes after my post. Gonna wait a couple of days to see if this hopefully pops up in my gold box.

Well, now it's interesting...I am tempted to order the set and the full-length book (currently $27) from amazon for $177, roughly the same price as they were charging for the set and excerpted book previously. And apply $60 in rewards points I saved up to boot.

Same thing. It just seems to be the same thing as everyone else is carrying?

From what I have read, Amazon confirmed the book is still part of the release for those that pre-ordered while it was still available. Although it isn't suppose to be the full book, but a shorter version instead. Also, it looks like Amazon is matching BB's price, so no tax for many of us, free shipping, and a book should make Amazon's probably the better deal still.

Re: James Bond Update

Does anyone know if there any plans to release the rest of the bond movies in steelbook? I cant seem to find muck info on them.

trying to decide if I should keep the 9 steelbooks I have or sell them and buy the bond 50. I would prefer steelbooks if there are plans to do all of the movies.

I sold my 6 JB Steelbooks on ebay for almost the same cost as what I will be buying the boxset for with all the movies in it. The good news for you is likely the prices of those steelbooks will keep going up (especially the harder to find Amazon 3).

Play.com UK has GoldenEye Blu-ray SteelBook. No idea about the others.

Review for the UK Box set.

I own the 11 single bluray (w/slip covers) and still debating to keep or sell them. All I need is the 9 remaining ones. But that might cost more than $100.

I still have the box set pre-ordered at Amazon.

You know, I really can't complain about selling bond films. Every set I have bought, I have sold for more just before the newer set came out.

I am surprised that not more info is out there about the steelbooks. I am leaning towars selling them.

This. The original DVD sets helped finance my first HD TV years ago.

Doubtful.

I sold my Steelbools (kept the discs) a few years ago for like $120.

I've yet to buy another steelbook. So pissed MGM just dropped them.

I think that is a target employee discount of 10%.

Whenever I buy from places like best buy, I usually click through another website that will give you up to 3.6% back on top of the 4% from rewardzone sliver mastercard. I used to buy mostly from amazon, but now with sales tax added, I will probably buy mostly from best buy as its free shipping on any purchase.

I did not post the websites name as it might be a no no on this site. If you can't figure out which, let me know by pm and I will let you know. Over the years I have gotten $356 from them..

Re: James Bond Update

I was also able to dump my bond steelbooks for enough to cover the cost of the set.

Re: James Bond Update

Picked up the set yesterday (local best buy put them out early, strangely enough it rang up 179.99, not the 199.99 sticker price or the. 149.99 sale price they are having it for), I love the fact that everything is so compact in the case. I've only watched Dr No and Octopussy so far but have been very impressed in the quality.

I'd previously only picked up the first 6 bond blus, so the decision to upgrade to this set was simple, especially since all 6 qualified for Moviestop's trade 2 get 1 new release program
