About as good as getting all 10 'Halloween' films in one box set = won't happen.

Aren't they all owned by the same company? scream 4 just has a different distributor? It seems possible.... hardly as improbably as the halloween movies, which are owned by 3 different companies.

Scream 1-3 are Miramax, distributed by Lionsgate. Scream 4 is The Weinstein Co./Anchor Bay

Although I do think a box set of all four Scream films won't happen; it's probably more likely than Anchor Bay, Universal and Miramax (via Echo Bridge) ever coming to an agreement for a Halloween set.

Same name, different company. The Wiensteins took the Dimension name with them, but the library pre-2005 stayed with Miramax. The Wiensteins own the sequel rights to most of the franchises like Scream and Scary Movie, but the original films stayed with Miramax, only to be leased out to crappy bargain bin distributors. (with the exception of a few titles Lionsgate got).

I bet they still won't carry over the extras from 4th Disc in the Ultimate Scream DVD Collection.

I don't see why not. They'll all probably be in SD so they'd easily fit on a Blu-ray disc along with the two documentaries.

It would be nice to have all teh stuff from the Scream DVD Bonus Disc from the trilogy box set but having 2 Full Length docs and 4 hours of bonus stuff is pretty good. I assume that the 2 docs are HD and the 4 hours of bonus are SD. I can't see 7 1/2 hours of HD stuff on 1 BD but 3 1/2 hours of HD and 4 of SD wouldn;t be a problem

From how the agreements have read, the new owners of Miramax are allowing other distributors have a crack at the library (ahem, Criterion, ahem) outside of Lionsgate/Echo Bridge.

I just watched these last weekend when selling my set....and was really underwhelmed, I would guess under 30 minutes of content and none of it particularly exciting other than Scream gag reel and a few of the screen tests. I would trade these for a real, in-depth documentary in a heartbeat.

Re: Scream Four Movie Set Coming From Anchor Bay, Possibly September

Went to DVD Empire to look at the preorder and they have this cover posted:

So the documentaries are listed right on the cover now. (Although why it says "5 film set" is kind of weird...like the publicist didn't know two features were documentaries....)
Anyway, now it's a must buy for me....

I still plan on buying this, but seriously, I don't know if that "5 film set" is going to drive me nuts or not, right now it is!

What's the 4 hours of bonus features, is it just the 2 documentaries?

Take this as you will.

Amazon has changed the box set page to reflect the Scream box set will contain five discs.

Yes, Amazon now has the same picture I put in my post # 246 above, so looks like each documentary will have it's own disc.

FYI

Target is doing a new movie reset, and they have the 5-film collection for $10. DCPI number is 058-40-0344.

Exactly what it is. Still a good deal though. The docs are good. For $10 why not?
