I agree with those who think the packaging is very cool. I also wish the outer cover was a real slipcover, but not a huge deal.

It does smell a little...but no where near as bad as my Evil Dead Book of the Dead edition did. That thing was horrid...I actually had to leave it air out in the garage a while after unsealing the package. I think it would have killed me if I kept it in the basement.

I'm mixed about the packaging...I like everything but the fact that the cover just sets over the top...wish it was an additional slip cover. I just know it's going to see a lot of wear and tear on the shelf because of the way it's designed. Not surprised the guy who designed it work on Criterion boxes...the packaging has a Criterion look to it.

As for the editing of the commentary by Sony...that's just crazy. If I were Fincher, I'd refuse to do commentaries for their releases ever again. I'm not aware of any other studios that edit their commentaries like that (maybe a bleep here or there for personal info...but certainly not for language).
