Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

I don't have any of the Saw movies on BD and since this is supposedly the last one I'm hoping for a box set.

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

As I mentioned in a previous thread, the only BDs that could be revised would be I - III; unless Lionsgate wants to get fancy and put together a comprehensive documentary focusing on the entire franchise. I - III are missing most of the bonus materials (if not all) found on the various DVD releases whereas IV - VI contain the same exact bonus material, if not more (VI), in relation to their DVD counterparts.

I paid $45 for I - VI new on BD, so I wouldn't be upset if Lionsgate puts out a comprehensive set.

Yes, I'm hoping for a box set as well. And I don't want them to wait until 2014 or something.

So they don't want to make money? Just release it later on when the film is stale. Smart move.

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

I already have 1-6 and was hoping for a box to w/ all version to replace it. Ill pick this up now and hope they have one the following year or later next year. Going to give all the single releases away to a family member so doesnt matter to me. Kinda glad its over finally despite how much I love the series. All good things need to come to and end before it gets really over done.

How much money is there to potentially make on a 3D BD that is released outside of a combo pack?

I know Burg has said there won't be a 3D release, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lionsgate puts one out sooner rather than later.

Exactly, it can't be that much considering how small the 3D Blu-ray customer base is.

I smell another Best Buy 3D exclusive. DirecTV will be offering the 3D version on PPV in January as well.

I've got 1-4 on DVD, been holding out for a mega BD box set, so I'll prob continue to do so. I never caught this one in theaters.

Two. You're forgetting the Wal-Mart bundle that included III/IV/V for $20.

I don't consider that another version. I consider it a sucker punch.

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

I'm in for day 1, but also hoping for a nice box set on the same release date.

I only own 4-6 on BR as 1-3 are almost barebones compared to the DVDs.

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

Okay I'm a little confused about this.

When you guys say there is no 3D release planned, you mean a BR specifically designed for a 3D HDTV right?

Why can't Lionsgate just release something similar to The Final Destination 3D BR and add those cheap paper 3D glasses? I thought that is what they were going to do with this?

Because that shit is terrible and pointless and we have a new, better 3D technology for home entertainment now....?

Re: Saw 3D-1/25/2011

Yeah I know there is better 3D technology. But, I'm not going to run to Best Buy and invest $2,000-3,000 on a new 3D HDTV when I have a regular HDTV that is working just fine. All I'm trying to say is why can't they make one for those who don't have a 3D HDTV like what New Line did for The Final Destination 3D.

Because that's not how the movie is meant to be seen.

You probably wont ever see that 'fake 3D' ever again on Home Video. They want to push the 3D BDs at a higher price, not the lower BDs. There has not been a 'fake 3D' release in a long time.
