Sounds like I'm gonna hold off on buying the movie till we can get any confirmation that RR may be doing a more special edition later release.

It was only the first 10 minutes or so.

I thought the movie was a disappointment.
In spite of the many gore and action scenes it was way to long and just became a chore to finish.

Still, listing that the movie is in HD on a Blu-ray in the special features is just fucking lame. Especially when it is there to pad a paltry list of extras,

That is weak, also the rental version is bare, has not one added feature.

I've cancelled my pre order with such anemic special features. I might bite if there's considerable price drop.

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

I rented this a few days back. It looks darn good (was surprised to see grain throughout so, either Rodriguez got over his video fetish or he pulled off some very convincing fake grain effects) and the audio was great (if a bit too loud). But the special features do indeed suck. And the deleted scenes are ho-hum at best. And there's only two character deaths in them.

The scratches were all done in post.

Rodriguez has not shot on 35mm since Spy Kids. Everything since Spy Kids 2 has been done digital and he's been clear it'll stay that way.

Wow, didnt expect the deleted scenes that the blu had. Osiris death is included as well as some alt hitmen and sis.

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

I just read several accounts of the Machete blu-ray being unplayable/unloadable in the PS3....but it played flawlessly last night in my Sony BDP-S360.

Can someone confirm that the Blu-Ray has more deleted scenes than the DVD?

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

My blu-ray had about 11 minutes worth of extras.

It included Osiris' death, "Sis," and a few of Jeff Fahey's goon's in deleted scenes. Osiris' death left a ton more to be desired though.

Also, this played fine in my PS3 Slim.

Played in mine (40 Gig Phat PS3), another 60GB, and a slim yesterday with no issues.

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

I had canceled my pre-order when I found out there were no extras, but I really want to watch this so I am going to probably cave this weekend and pick it up.

May as well wait until Sunday, as per the newly posted Target ad, they will have it for only $19.99...yes, that's right, two dollars cheaper than they are selling it for now during release week....
Looks like I am going back for a price match soon....

The scratches were way obvious and rather distracting. I'm glad they only lasted untitl the title sequence. What I was refering to is a persistent layer of grain over the whole movie. It's actually quite convincing (unlike the scratches).

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

Weird, the Blu-Ray deleted scenes seem to be different than the DVD deleted scenes, which are mostly about Alba's character (there's a silly twist surprise).

So....are there simply more scenes on the blu than on the DVD, or do I need the DVD also to have the "complete" Machete collection of clips?

Re: Machete >> 2010 (??)

The blu-ray box even says EXCLUSIVE deleted scenes on the cover. I think there were about 8 or maybe more. The alternate hitmen scenes were silly. Osiris' death was nice to see but too short and silly. Sis was just hot...
