I really want Mulholland Drive, but who owns the rights in North America? I don't want to import from the UK if there's a NA release in the works.

Has anyone got the new French reissue of Wild at Heart?
Is it the uncut version?
Does it have forced French subs (like the first release)?
Are the extras English friendly?

I can confirm that the UK Mulholland Drive BD doesn't have the audio pitch issue. I bought the HD DVD and I noticed it right away with that. The BD also has some solid extras.

Excellent news! Thanks!

Universal has the American rights.

I don't have the disc, but someone on the HDD forum reported that it's the American theatrical cut (with smoke over the shotgun gore). The same disc is being released in England next week, so I'd have to assume that it's English friendly and no forced subs.

However, this person claims that there's something wrong with the audio mix, because he's hearing dialogue come from all three front channels simultaneously. But this is only one report so far, and I haven't heard anyone corroborate it yet.

This isn't foreign release related, but I don't where else to put it. Did Lynch's The Elephant Man ever get released in the U.S.? I recall seeing it pop up on releaselists.com and a few people talked about it on here, but I can't find it online anyplace. I thought it was mentioned that it would be an Amazon exclusive, but the only Elephant Man BDs that show up are imports. Again, I apologize for going (kinda) off topic.

Not officially. Some resellers like Amazon had vendors who did import it for awhile (probably until they were told not too).

Is there a Blu-ray release of Lost Highway anywhere in the world at this point?

edit: just saw the OP  Nov 11th in France. Looks like I'll have to get my hands on it somehow.

Gee, I just love it when DVD Beaver uses tons of NSFW caps in their reviews.

According to the comments on the Amazon.FR site, the deleted scenes are still not included.

But there is a screwup with the sound on the Aus disc at least, even though it is listed as 5.1 DTS HD-MA and the player/receiver identifies it as the same, it is definitely 2 channel with dialogue coming from all front speakers.

hbilly, how is your german copy in this regard?

Sorry for the late reply. I had the German disc for some time and only tested it briefly when I posted in this thread. The German Blu-ray sounds alright? I didn't notice any of the audio issues you described. I got some good sound action from the rear speakers at times.
Video isn't that great as I said in my post, that's because I only saw the opening back then which looks decent. The rest is a mixed bag lacking fine detail ever so often and there are a few murky looking shots.

Reads a little sycophantic to me. It bothers me when people write about directors using their first name, as if they were good friends.

I don't get the sense from that user review that the writer is very technically knowledgeable.
