Just how incredibly expensive and awesome will October be for you?

October looks to be a CRAMMED month of Blu releases, with a ton of new releases as well as some very long-awaited catalog releases. What are you planning on getting, and what will you pass on? And any guesses on which ones will be cheap before Christmas?

Re: Just how incredibly expensive and awesome will October be for you?

Grindhouse and Wolverine and the X-Men are the only ones I have pre-ordered, and that's because I got good prices on them. There's a few other things I will get at some point down the line when I can get them cheap enough.

I'm probably going to wait till next month when the holiday sales start up to pick up most of October's releases.

Re: Just how incredibly expensive and awesome will October be for you?

The only ones I'm interested in are

Grindhouse: Special Edition (Vivendi)
A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) (Warner Brothers)
How to Train Your Dragon (Paramount)
Predators (20th Century Fox)
Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy (Universal)

And I'll probably wait until Black Friday or when the black friday ads leak to pick any of them up. I think this holiday season will suffer in DVD/Bluray sales just because this summer had such shitty movies. The only other movies that I might get this fall would be Inception, Machete, Iron Man 2, Get Him To The Greek, Avatar Special Edition (I didnt get the barebones)

Don't forget about those Halloween horror sales that pop up every year to promote the Halloween season.

Apocalypse Now and Psycho for sure, will hold out for separate releases on Alien/s and BTTF.

Grindhouse and Seven Samurai when they're on sale.

A pretty good month, but I'm not sure I'd characterize it as "awesome" - Apocalypse Now, The Magician, Maltese Falcon, Psycho and Treasure of the Sieera Madre for me.

Just BTTF for me in October. Each of the next three months have one big release I'm really looking forward to: King Kong in Sept, BTTF in Oct, and TS3 in Nov.

It's going to be an exciting fall season on Blu.

Same. Almost everything is on hold till Black Friday and after for me. Looks like a total of ten October releases, but will probably hold off on Red Dragon, Three Kings, and The Mission till next yr... don't care as much about them. Darjeeling should be a lock for a Nov B&N sale... so that really only leaves six to try and strategically get in Nov-Dec.

Alien Anthology
Back to the Future
Apocalypse Now
Predators
The Mission
Darjeeling Limited
Red Dragon
Last of the Mohicans
How to Train Your Dragon
Three Kings

I have been much more selective about buying blu-rays than I was about buying DVD's, so the only "must buy" for me on that list is The Last of the Mohicans.
