PM has one redeeming quality but even that is cut up and edited to pieces.

Clones is OK with a large amount of FF.

ROTS I can watch most of.

I only plan on picking up the OT. I would like a montage of all the prequel lightsaber duels cut together though. That's really all I need to see of them ever again.

Ordered the OT blu set, and I'll keep the prequel DVDs that I've never watched.

I must be in the minority because I can handle the first two prequels, but ROTS is the hard one to sit through for me. Mainly because of the juvenile humor that Lucas uses.

Unlike all the "Meesa go boom boom" crap in The Phantom Menace?

Though they are indefensible as films, I do find them enjoyable on a very basic level. The hard part will be watching them first before getting to 4-6. I also want the extras (underwhelming as they appear to be).

I don't even own a blu-ray player but if the original originals were included I would get one. I am honestly shocked that Lucas hasn't thought of releasing the original versions of the first three with that $35,000 dollar TV as an exclusive.

You just know that Lucas has the original versions of the movie in perfect quality. He's said that the original elements don't exist anymore. But wouldn't he have had to restore the movie first BEFORE he added all the nonsense to them to make the "Special Editions"? I don't see why he doesn't just put the original versions out. That's all I want, really. I'm not going to waste any more money on Star Wars until we get the real versions of the movies. I like Return Of The Jedi. It's my favourite one. And, except for JarJar, I liked Phantom Menace. Well, JarJar and Anakin. And the one part of Clone Wars that I didn't like was that they used CGI for all the troopers. It just didn't look right. I understand that all the troopers are supposed to look exactly the same and the Lucas used CGI to save the money of hiring a bunch of guys, but they could have done what they did for the Christopher Lee fighting scenes and superimpose the man's face on actual people. They would have looked more real.

Well, I don't hate the prequels, and although some of the extras aren't interesting to me at all (the 501st one, for example), some of them are ones I would like to have on disc format.

So in the end, I'm fine grabbing the complete set, even though I will concede that it could have been done better.

I don't hate the prequels either but since I've watched each one once on DVD since launch, it's hard to justify the cost.

TPM Is easily the weakest but the podrace will be spectacular in HD.

I love the misguided self-righteousness you see when people proudly talk about not buying the set or certain configurations of it, as if Lucas is going immediately kill himself the moment he gets some report stating that the PT box sold 7 copies less than the OT box.

One thing's for sure: fanboycotts have done nothing to stop the Luca$ empire from raking in a large fortune in the 14+ years since old George started raping childhoods and I doubt anyone who stands to benefit from these sets selling well has anything to worry about.

The only people who have anything to fear are the Lucas-haters who might get caught secretly owning the very product they protested so vocally online.

SpikeTV is certainly trying to get their monies worth out of these before they hit Blu. Not a day goes by that one isn't on at least 2 times.

I liked The Phantom Menace the best of the prequels. I really liked Liam Neeson's part and Darth Maul was fun. Christopher Lee was old and Grevious was a CGI monster.

The problem is the scene, as shown, doesn't follow the storyboard described. The scene has Luke in the full "cloaked evil Jedi" mode which doesn't fit what is being shown on the storyboard. Why would Luke be wearing his cloak in the cave?

I think that the biggest failing of the prequels is that we all went into them knowing what would happen, we just didn't know why it would happen. Everyone knew that Anakin was going to become Darth Vader, we just didn't know why.

And I've watched the prequels multiple times, and I really don't know why Anakin fell to the dark side other than the simple fact that he was just an asshole.

That's what we waited three decades to see?

I think it would've been cool if they portrayed Anakin as a happy-go-lucky Playboy who used his force powers to pick up chicks. Then one night after bar hopping, his best friend is accidentally killed by a Jedi. The Jedi gets off scott free. Anakin wants revenge, seeks out a Sith. Learns dark side powers, finds and kills the Jedi -- then gets carried away with the dark side.

That's just one scenario that I think might've been cool.

Bingo. There's no establishing shot, either -- just ... all of a sudden, here's this unidentifiable shadowy-looking dude (who isn't Mark Hamill), in a cave ... somewhere ... with R2-D2 and a badly composited C-3PO. And a lightsaber. That the shadowy dude is going to use to ... what? Chop off R2-D2's head? Where's the rest of the scene? He just waves the blade at R2 and then (if it were dropped into the film as is) the scene inexplicably jumps to the two droids traveling to Jabba's palace.

It's obviously a conspiracy.
