I don't know, I hate the normal Star Wars bickering but I find this debate far more compelling.

Actually we're arguing about whether or not said nipples have been digitally removed, and if so, has that raped our early-adulthood?

DigitalBits has confirmed that Lucas has indeed digitally "enhanced/corrected" the nipple scenes. See below:

Because they want you to keep your DVD set. As far as I know none of the docs from the PT DVDs are included either.

Natalie Portman in the white jumpsuit made Life Magazine's Sexiest Women of Science Fiction, right behind Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia in the gold bikini:

Apparently the toy makers working at Hasbro thought Padme looked "perky" in that costume too, since they released this action figure that was later recalled:

http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Unle.../dp/B000BYT132

Senator Padme Amidala was released during the Star Wars Unleashed series. This figure is highly detailed and comes with a Black Rifle, Brown Base and Grey Chain as seen in the arena on the planet Geonosis from Attack of the Clones - Episode 2. This figure is highly sought out by collectors due to the fact that it was recalled. The reason is that the breasts of the figure were too perky. Hence, the nickname "Perky Padme".

... putting 'Padme nipples' into Google gives some... very... interesting results. LOL.

Padme's nipples shot first. Removing them totally destroys her character arc.

Quick question...it doesn't seem Empire of Dreams is going to be on the blu set? Or am I missing something?

Now, back to nipples.

Doesn't look like Empire Of Dreams is included. Not sure about the nipples either at this point.

No "Empire of Dreams" and no "From Stars Wars to Jedi" included. But hey, we get almost four hours of fans in stormtrooper outfits, spoofs, and a ported History Channel doc with scientists talking about the technology of Star Wars. -rolleyes-

That's junk! It might be in our best interest to buy the movies only, but I want the three TV specials.

I agree. I want the other things on the set but including almost four hours of fluff while leaving off the two docs I mentioned is inexcusable, in my opinion.

It would have been cool for the Original Star Tours to have been thrown on the set (like Back to the Future: the Ride).
Oh well

Well, I'll be keeping the bonus disc from that set, and I've got an LD-to-DVD rip of From Star Wars to Jedi (along with Anamorphic rips of the Definitive LD OT), so I'll just have to make my own 'Ultimate' set.

I've been assembling my own "Ultimate" set over the years too. I really thought that this set, with the space that blu-ray provides, would be the ultimate set that fans have waited for, short of the original theatrical versions. Then, I figured he'd relent in a short time and release a BD set with the originals. Maybe we'll still get that eventually along with any currently missing extras. Wishful thinking, I know.

Where does this information come from? Unless it was announced in the last few days, it was NOT announced on May 4th. Two discs are still un-detailed.

True, and it would be a nice surprise to see those included on the other discs. Somehow, though, I think it's unlikely we will see them (especially From Star Wars To Jedi, since it does contradict what Lucas has been saying recently).

From the official LFL announcement. Disc 7 is for the prequels, so only disc 8 is undetailed as it relates to the OT.

They gave all the specs for disc 9, entitled "Star Wars Documentaries". They listed three of the four original "making-of" documentaries, the 'Spoofs' doc, the '501st' doc, the 'Conversation with the Masters' feature, the 'Anatomy of a Dewback' feature, and the 'Star Wars Tech' doc. They didn't list the fourth documentary, "From Star Wars to Jedi", which is the longest of the original four at 65 minutes. Why put 3 on disc 9 and stick the 4th on another disc? It doesn't make sense. They didn't list "Empire of Dreams" which is 151 minutes, the longest Star Wars documentary LFL has produced. If those two were on the set, they would have definitely listed them in the press announcement, considering what they did list, and it stands to reason that they would be on the "Star Wars Documentaries" disc.

Disc 8's official listing:◦Including: deleted, extended and alternate scenes; prop, maquette and costume turnarounds; matte paintings and concept art; supplementary interviews with cast and crew; and more.

I just don't think that the two longest OT documentaries ever made by LFL would be listed as "supplementary interviews" when there is a disc entitled "the Star Wars Documentaries".

I'd love to be surprised and somehow find them 'hidden' on disc 8. On the other hand, they fit with the content on disc 9 and considering their length and clear status as documentaries and not supplementary interviews, I just don't see it happening on disc 8.

I recently converted the Empire of Dreams doc to divx so I can watch it on my computer when I'm deployed. I can't believe their not including it on the BDs, but then again, I can. Glad I didn't sell it.

tylergfoster 05-24-11 01:18 PM

re: Star Wars

I doubt they'll even be hidden on Disc 8. I have hope they will just be included there. The last disc of the Alien set has a "Laserdisc Archive," and it would be nice if Lucasfilm followed suit.
