Edit: Sorry, you're questioning that third disc. Have no idea whether or not it'll be blu-ray.

Going to pre-order this right now, just had to wait for the region free confirmation. 5000 seems like an awfully small number for a big movie like this. I pray that I ordered it in time...

Not sure where you found the confirmation. Arrow Films answered my inquiry with the following response:

Of the three discs of the Limited Edition Blu-ray, two are blu-ray discs where the features and the extras are playable on US blu-ray players. The third disc is indeed a Region 0 PAL DVD so if you PAL can handle a PAL signal you will be fine. Aside from the third discs there are two booklets, a comic, a poster and 8 postcards so if the third disc is a problem you still have quite a bounty of extras!

With regards to the retailer listings, Amazon are indeed selling our set as ‘Special Edition’, this is the same as our Limited Edition and is merely listed wrong. There is only one edition being sold on 29th November, the follow on edition will be released in the new year.

Damn. I'm sure I already know the answer to this, but US PS3's won't play a R0 PAL DVD, will they?

Still an awesome set, even if just for the first 2 discs.

Edit: I have also noticed that Arrow Video has announced that due to the unexpected high demand of the Limited Edition, they have increased the number being produced from 5,000 to 10,000

No, US PS3s won't play a PAL DVD. :(

Whew! Not happy it's a DVD, but I can play R0 PAL content on another standalone I have, at least.

Even if our PS3s won't play the third disc, I assume most of us still have a region-free DVD player capable of playing PAL DVDs?

I don't...I never really got into importing DVDs... (I know I can get a player really cheap, I might.)

The impression I get is that the non LE version will have the same discs, it will just be missing the other extras, like the comic, 2 collectable booklets, postcards and Poster.

Most, if not all, computer dvd players can play PAL dvds, so you'd be okay there if you don't mind viewing it on your computer or using your computers output on your tv.

What about Blu-Ray Players? Can they play PAL DVD's without a problem?

A handful of them can (recent models include LG's S570 and Toshiba's BDX2700), but it's not a standard feature and certainly isn't as common as players not having the availability to play PAL material.

Check and see if your player has a hack; if it doesn't this site will let you know which players are.

If you own an Xbox 360, the player is capable of converting to PAL to NTSC if the disc is region free.

With the third disc being a PAL DVD, I am planning on taking it out of the set and putting my old NTSC Tartan disc in its place. Most of my dvds are in a box right now anyways so at least I could get some use out of it.

Slight red flag: looks like they might be using a DVD-sized case for both.
