Exactly, the PQ in many of thier DVD's in recent years has been very spotty as well.

Pass on Anchor Bay...

Talk all the smack you want about Anchor Bay, but their Evil Dead release was phenomenal and everyone here knows it. I can imagine them giving a similar treatment to Battle Royale, but I'm keeping my UK pre-order regardless.

So phenomenal that already existing bonus material that is currently owned by Anchor Bay didn't show up on the set?

So phenomenal that all of the bonus material that was put on the set was regulated to a DVD and if you didn't purchase it within the first month or two of release, you're now screwed as Anchor Bay doesn't offer it anymore?

It sports a great transfer, but it's not what the definitive release should've been.

If I'm understanding what I'm reading, Anchor Bay is giving the 3D version of Battle Royale a 2011 theatrical release first, so that means the Blu/DVD (of either the 2D or 3D version) release from them will be a ways off, correct?

I think I'll stick with the Arrow pre-order for now.

In Japan, I guess it makes sense. 3D is all of the rage and why not celebrate one of the most popular live-action films to be released out of Japan? You need a gimmick when you re-release a film now and I guess that 3D is the gimmick.

I'd guess the delay is related to producing the materials for the LE set. At least, I hope that's why.

Hmm, Amazon canceled my order I guess since the release date changed? I had to reorder it, I suggest you guys check on your orders as well. I hope they are delaying the release so they can make more since there is so much demand!

mine says this as well, but if you click on the actual item in order it says will be released December 13, 2010. the shipping in order just hasn't adjusted. expecting to get an email saying there is a delay with order, but don't expect cancellation.

Well, I should say that it was never canceled, just that when I went to the "my orders" section, there was nothing there. Same thing when I selected the "all orders in 2010" option, nothing was there. I just assumed it had been canceled.
