$1.5 BR Rentals coming
Perhaps this should be in the bargain section, but as this directly relates to Blu-ray, I decided to put this here.
Redbox will be providing $1.50/night rentals of blu-ray movies soon

Unlike SD rentals, which to me didn't make a lot of sense when I can buy the blasted thing for only a few bucks more, a BD rental of $1.5 could drastically change my habit of buying rather than renting.
Just thought I would share.

Re: $1.5 BR Rentals coming
b2net- yes, i thought the $1.50 was a strange price point. They could be trying to show that BRs are only slightly more expensive than SD. Psychologically speaking, $1.50 is still in the "one dollar" mental range so it could be perceived as less than a difference than between $1 and $2 (which could be viewed as BR is twice as expensive as SD).
Then again, I may looking too much into this.

Just saw them updating the machine outside of 7-11 last night. There is now a giant sticker on the front of the box saying BLU-RAY $1.50 rentals.

It's been like that for about a month or so in central Florida. The selection is worth checking out, for sure -- was able to check out Daybreakers day of release. They're packing both catalog and new release stuff.

Maybe this will get Netflix to drop their asinine BD charges.

I will gladly pay $1.50 a night to rent BDs at Redbox.

Oh, I'm done using Netflix for BDs once they update the machines here in Vegas. I'm dropping that to the unlimited one-disc plan the moment that happens.

I saw Precious on blu at a Redbox nearby. That was the only one though. Hopefully they'll have more soon. $1.50 for a blu ray rental is a no brainer. Blockbusters blu ray are like $8 right?
