I was able to remove the big UPC sticker on the back without leaving any residue and without ripping any of the box.

Probably depends on which warehouse they ship from. I ordered a replacement set on Dec. 29th (due to a couple clips being broken). The replacement arrived Dec. 31st, but it was the original packaging again

If anyone is looking for the new packaging, check your local Best Buy....I had never opened my original copy (with the terrible clip packaging), but have found multiple copies of the slightly larger revised case version at the BB stores around here, so I bought one and just swapped it out for my original version....the big sticker UPC is still the same number as the original, I say go for it and leave that sliding clip mess in the past....

Thanks for the info...I'll now (finally) be considering purchasing this, loooong after being the OP in the thread.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

Ok, I just read this whole thread and did not see anyone mention my problem. I ordered the UK tin set from dvd.co.uk back in October. It arrived in perfect condition. Today I finally got around to watching the discs themselves and found that, despite everything the packaging indicates, the main DTS-MA audio is in Japanese (could be chinese). There is an english audio track, but not labeled as high def and certainly didn't sound like it. Did anyone have this problem with the UK set?

I sent off an e-mail to dvd.co.uk to see if they can be any help at this point, but I might be stuck. So I'm thrilled I got the awesome tin and stuff, but now pissed that I don't have the highest quality english audio. Could I be one of the few with mislabed discs or is this something that happens when you order from that site?

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

Figured this was worth a bump for those who held off on this set because of it's awful packaging (and it's just-as-ugly replacement). I was in a store here in Toronto on the weekend and noticed this set is finally available in a single-width plastic Blu-ray case with a simple slip cover, as it should have been all along. At first glance, it looked like one of the single-movie releases, but its definitely got all three inside. The only problem, as per usual with Canadian discs, was the hideous bilingual packaging, but I'm at least hopeful this new packaging will show up on American shelves (if it hasn't already) so I can pick it up down there at some point, preferably at a much-reduced price.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

Still waiting for the single disc BluRay release of these movies in the US.....

I am OCD, so don't think I'm too weird. I bought the Trilogy, and I was wondering if I can buy or download a cover for just Back to the Future (original) BluRay case?

I thought the UK versions were already announced, so I'm assuming the US will get them this year as well.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)

I just bought this not too long ago for $20 sealed. I really hate seeing discs saying "digital copies" on it. So I want to ebay them. Does anyone know if the digital copies discs still work?

Check the fine print on the insert that contains the codes to activate the digital copies. Mine says they expired last November but I bought mine when they were first released. Not sure if they bump up the expiration date if they release a new batch.

Yes I know it says "may not work" after November 2011. That's why I'm wondering.

How useless these are. If I want digital copies I don't need to buy something.

Yeah, only used a couple of them on my iPod. Never tried one that was expired, though. Problem is, if you try it then it's no good.

Here's a fairly comprehensive list that indicates that the copies will expire at the end of this year. And I know I've redeemed a few that have supposedly expired in the past, such as Disney ones. Warner Brothers is more strict from what I recall, adhering to their original dates. Although according to the list, Inception is now active? I'll have to try that this week.

The good: According to that list BTTF trilogy is still good

The bad: It labels it as the "100th" anniversary ed

So what to believe?

Not sure what you mean. If you mean you can buy digital copies separately, you are correct. But the studios have generally promoted these as bonus copies alongside the physical copy (I haven't done the math to compare them against non-DC versions).

I kind of like having them myself, even though I haven't watched a whole lot of them.

ahh ok good to know. So mine are still good then. Better get rid of those discs on ebay.

I guess if I get $10 for all 3 I'll be happy.

Well let's face it, they are obtainable via "alternate" means for free. So I don't really need them taking space on my blu ray packages.

Yeah, but the Blu-ray discs themselves are also available via "alternate" means for free. Should those be excluded too?

Obviously, I'm assuming putting "alternate" in quotes is another way of saying illegal.

Good luck. I'm curious how much these might go for. Not that I would sell mine. I'm one of those that keeps everything that comes with the package... even inserts

Shit. Come to think of it I'm like that as well. So maybe I shouldn't sell them.

Unless I burn the digital copies to sell those while keeping the original (and hereby useless) discs?

Check out completed eBay transactions to see how much digital copies are going for. Maybe it's not even worth the effort.
