And Amazon will ask you if you want the charge converted to dollars for billing purposes. I bought the set on Amazon UK and it is currently in transit to my door. Does the UK release work fine in US players? I've heard it works in the PS3, but I'm not sure if that matters or not. Also which is better between the two shipping options of not receiving a damaged set (Air Mail/Priority)? I've never ordered anything like this before. I don't mind waiting the extra time, if the shipping is still good. |

Here's a post via HTF that shows the method I was referring to.
1. Pull back http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/4/4c...lbackdisc1.jpg 2. Lift up http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/0/06...caf0_Lift1.jpg 3. Lift out http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/4/46...61_pullout.jpg |
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
Yeah, that's the way it's designed to work. You also put it back the same way, except you lay it in the slot instead of pulling it back out.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
Are there any pictures of the inside of the UK box? Not the contents but the way the discs are held?

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
There won't be a replacement program like with the DVD snafu, but I bet they will be putting these out in better packaging. I bet they're getting inundated with complaints.

Lol...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti8rxhs2g7c These feel more like summer films to me so I think I'll hold off for awhile, who knows...maybe they'll update the packaging, or we'll get word on individual releases... |
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
Wow that UK packaging is substantially better. I haven't been able to pick the set up yet but I guess I'm going to just import the tin.
|
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
The person in marketing at Universal who allowed that design should not be making decisions. A horrible design that I guarantee will get issued in a different configuration at a later date.

Then I saw the estimated delivery date... November 17. Oh well. It's worth the wait not to have the shitty US release. And apparently the Australian "DeLorean Packaging" was so shitty it got cancelled, so it looks like the UK set is the way to go. thats like amazon.ca when they say the estimated delivery date is 3 weeks from the ship day, and it then shows up on your door step via DHL the next day or 2 days latter. that november 17th date is just so you wont call and question where your package is if you dont have it within a week or 2 |
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
I'm confused. Did the states not get a slipcover for the set?

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
So there's no chance that anybody's going to address my valid question about the previous audio issues, is there?
If I was complaining about the cases or talking about the freakin' uk set somebody would reply. Why does it seem like nobody cares about the films themselves??? |
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
I didn't buy the set yet but that does look like bad packaging. Just having the DC disc in the set like that makes it bad. Once you use those there is really no point keeping them in the set so why have a holder for them. Hopefully rerelease without the DC will come with better packaging.
|
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
The flap on the slipcover looks like it will only open and close a few times before the velcro falls off or stops working, so don't mess with that too much.
|
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
Yeah, if the rest of the packaging didn't suck so much then that chinsy velcro thing would be more talked about. I had only seen something like that once before, but from a budget distributor. It was a disappointment to see it here.

I really, really hate these package sets. I only want part I in a standard case, but only have the option of buying all three in this horribly packaged set. I wonder if Universal will ever realize these are three separate movies? |
Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
BTTF 1 and 2 are among my all-time favorite movies, but I too will wait for separate releases. I have The Office S.6 packaging and over time, there's no way to keep the discs from getting dinged up a bit, especially on the edges. The BTTF DVD set was a Day 1 purchase for me at $30, but over time I watched it drop to under $10. I'm sure the BR set will similarly drop, and would very much prefer separate cases.

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
Did they announce individual releases? I remember people saying the same thing when the DVD boxset came out. I guess they're still waiting...

Re: "Back To The Future" on Blu! (10-26-2010)
They haven't announced separate releases yet, and who knows if they ever will. The original DVD trilogy came out in 2005, and the separate releases didn't come out until 2009.
P.S. Has anybody been able to confirm whether the previous DVD audio issues are fixed yet? |
