yesterday i picked up Kick-Ass, Megamind, Neverending Story, Where the Wild Things Are. and Toy Story 1, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, A Bugs Life, Monsters Inc are on order.

Just bought The Adventures of Robin Hood for $10 at Walmart. My store is resetting its DVD and Blu-ray floor selection next Tuesday and this was one of the titles scheduled for removal so I figured if I didn't pull the trigger now I probably never would. I also picked up the DVD of Law and Order, a 1953 Western starring Ronald Reagan, for $5. It, too, was scheduled for removal next week and I've never seen Mr. Reagan in an acting role (cynical remarks about his presidency notwithstanding). I'm thinking about centering my Make-Your-Own Challenge in May around the Gipper. They're both blind buys, but I figure for $15 the chances are good I'll get my money's worth.

Using 40% off coupon at Half Price Books, I just snagged this in pristine condition for a mere $12.71 (including tax):
I used a second such coupon to pick up Superman/Batman: Public Enemies for $9.53 (also including tax). Plus, the quarter bin had several Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight back issues I needed. Great shopping outing today!

Gamera: Guardian Of The Universe/Attack Of The Legion double feature. Being from Mill Creek, I was really expecting the picture to be horrible quality, as is most of what Mill Creek puts out. But I was really surprised. The picture quality is great. I read a review that said there are artifacts and a ton of compression. I didn't see any. The picture was as good as any single film blu-ray that I've seen. It's great.
