I also bought my mom Oppenheimer on BD. I felt dirty as I was standing in line at the check out and immediaty came home and took a shower.

My 4K copy of The Monster Squad from Amazon arrived today in perfect shape. Between a cyber Monday promo that netted me a $15 credit and using up some CC reward points this $33 film was free, yay! It is still stuck at the high $49.99 price point on Amazon but at least it is in stock. I just checked, back in stock at Kinos site and only $33.47.

El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie

My dumb 2023 year-in-review! I bought, received, or pre-ordered 157 titles in 2023 (up 2.6% from 2022's 153 titles). The split this year was:

Ultra HD Blu-ray - 66.9% (105 titles)
Blu-ray - 26.1% (41 titles)
DVD - 7.0% (11 titles)

This time last year:

Ultra HD Blu-ray - 67.3% (103 titles)
Blu-ray - 32.0% (49 titles)
DVD - 0.7% (1 title)

All of the DVDs I acquired in 2022 and 2023 were part of Mill Creek's Ultraman collection.

It felt like I picked up a bunch more UHD titles than last year, but looking at the numbers, that's really not the case. And I guess ceasing to be a reviewer didn't meaningfully impact the number of incoming titles either.

I added 37 titles in 2023, which is a lot higher than I would have guessed. My goal for 2024 is fewer than 10.

I have been trying to watch Monk on amazon but the quality makes my eyes hurt so I ordered these just now.

Just now found out they released Seasons 5 & 6 of The Expanse, bought both! I can't believe they actually released the last 2 seasons of this show on physical media. Thank you Amazon!

I've been wanting to buy the Clue 4K from a brick and mortar store to try to get a slipcover but the nearest Best Buy that had it was several suburbs over and we hadn't been that way in a while. Yesterday afternoon was a nice, clear afternoon for my teen to get some driving hours in for their permit so I put that Best Buy in Google Maps so they can also learn to follow the map lady while driving and we took a ride.

So, yeah, Clue 4K.
