Bought 300: Rise of an Empire 3D/2D BD from BigLots a couple of days ago for $5, still haven't unwrapped it meaning still not sure if I'm going to keep it yet. Probably will though...

Re: The last Blu-ray you bought (Round 3)

Decided to order the Arrow Video Donnie Darker disc. It shipped for $18 flat. I had initially pre-ordered the limited boxed set for almost $40, but canceled that one. Screw all that extra nonsense. I'm region free, so it works for me.

Well, it gets 3-1/2 stars at Amazon. With the exception of the historians it doesn't do too badly. I guess it's a matter for personal opinion. I get that it's not as good as the first one but it doesn't do that horribly. I still haven't unwrapped it.....

Taste is absolutely subjective. I usually have a very high tolerance for mindless action movies. Throw in a few bad guys dying and some tits and I'm ready to nominate it for the Oscar. This one I was surprised at how bad I found it.

43% on RT
52% of audience
6.2 on IMDB
so obviously enough people liked it that it did get a few thumbs up. I'm just at the stage if I am going to own something, it has to be a good repeat viewer. A 6.2 is not a good repeater for me. Hope it floats your boat better than it did mine.

Funny that I should be uncertain at keeping 300: Rise of an Empire, being pretty much convinced that maybe it wouldn't have the rewatch value to justify adding it to my collection, and concluding that I'll return it in favor of buying something I really want, only to have someone else buy it just one post later... Go figure...
