Now that there actually is a better release to compare it to, the problems with TG,TB,& TU are apparent.
However, as someone with a large front projection set-up, the MGM release is still at times a good improvement over the DVD release. There is much less video, mosquito noise in the image, and just a greater sense of solidity and stability to it overall. I also don't think it looks as scrubbed and as artificial as some other discs out there. In direct comparision with the Italian disc, yes the difference is easily noted. Isolated by itself, nowhere near as much.
In short, it's not the release it could or should be, but it is still an upgrade over the DVD that people with larger screens will more likely notice.

I've been looking for this set since Tuesday. I finally found a copy at a Barnes and Noble. After removing the cellophane, I saw that it was in perfect condition, EXCEPT FOR THE BOXCUTTER SLASH ON THE SPINE! Is it just me, or is it impossible to find a completely undamaged slipcover for BluRays? I rarely had this problem with DVD.

I sometimes have trouble getting a nice slipcover if I don't go on the first day of release.

Oh well, if they ever release these movies separately, I'll buy them for the better artwork and re-gift this set.

I was this close to ordering, but I realized how much money I'll need for this fall. So I'll just wait until I can get it for really really cheap or a better edition.
