I'm really glad Sony is now distributing the Weinstein titles, as it provides a bit of stability. Most of Weinstein's self-released new titles were actually good, the Mist, Zack and Miri, etc., but the catalog titles leave a lot to be desired. Maybe this way we'll see both new and older releases get out quicker. And hopefully the brothers can buy back Miramax, another Blu-ray resistor. Why Everybody's Fine didn't warrant a Blu-ray release I don't know.
I liked how one review said that The Road is a good film that isn't as good as the book, while No Country is a good film that's better than the book. I'm not sure I necessarily agree, but the director did a really fantastic job here. The film is cold and distant and sad but so is the book. I think I'll pick this up. I'd like to see some discussion of the effects, because the world looked really realistic.
