Awesome news! I dig the Subspecies series, and I'd like to see the rest hit BD at some point.

Mods: can we get a thread title change to make this the official Full Moon Pictures Blu-ray thread? Seems like it's going to become that anyway.

With a few exceptions like the first Trancers film, Charles Band/Full Moon doesn't own the Empire Pictures titles from 1983-1991, MGM does.

They do own some of the earlier Charles Band films from the 70s and early 80s, like Laserblast and Parasite.

On a related note, what Full Moon DVDs had substantial extras aside from recycling old Video Zine segments? I know there were Collector's Editions of films like Retro Puppet Master and Subspecies IV that had audio commentaries from the directors. Anything else?

Obviously is an improvement on the old DVD, but since it's Full Moon, I'll wait on the final product for any other comments

Sorry to be 'that guy', but shouldn't the thread title be changed to a general Full Moon thread, or else move Subspecies talk to its own thread?

I always liked the Subspecies series but was always bothered by how a certain major conflict in the first film was resolved in such an anticlimactic manner at the beginning of the second film.

But it was cool how each subsequent film (with the exception of the fourth film - when in the story does that even fit?) picked up exactly were the previous films left off.

Yeah, I'm definitely passing on this. That may actually be worse than the initial BD release of Evil Dead 2.

I understand that.

For me, I can't support a mediocre or bad product. There are other companies (specializing in Cult film) that pour lots of time/love into their product (Synapse Films comes to mind first), that it's almost inexcusable that Full Moon is still botching their releases.

If anyone was waiting on the PM:AOE BR Trunk, their site lists an available quantity of only 13 left. That might not be completely representative of remaining stock but having checked it infrequently over the course of the year that number does seem in keeping with the on hand stock level trend.
