I've only watched the first one and it was in stereo. The lack of 5.1 is not a big deal for me because I like watching films with their original soundtrack. But I agree that they should have never advertised it if it's not there.

In their email for the 4th of July sale, they're still saying it's 5.1

I can give you an exact timestamp of how long the film is. I've tried calling them today and they don't answer. Does not look like anyone else even has the DVD/BDs (or are commenting on the lack of promised 5.1 for both releases). I'd expect a recall, but this is Full Moon so they will likely just send me a postcard. Maybe it'll reach the children over at Blu-ray.com and they can cause a stink.

Is Puppet Master at least in Widescreen this time around? Also, is Axis of Evil any good or is it another travesty like Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys?

Yes, it's in widescreen. As for the new film, I haven't watched it yet.

Neither did I. Flipped through a few scenes, and it looks pretty meh. Already saw a recycled scene from the first Puppet Master (sigh).

Ill try calling FullMoon again tomorrow. Curious to see what their answer will be since 5.1 is a big deal and they are still trying to push that to consumers. If it's an error, fine, send me replacement discs, but don't con potential customers.

Until more people get this, no amount of complaining will do anything. This does not hit retail for another month. And I doubt they sold more then 1,000 of these on either format.

Watching the first film right now, and if I had to give it a PQ rating, it would be 2.5 out of 5 (given it's age and budget). It certainly is better than the DVD, but FullMoon could have done better. I fear how the sequels will look given they were all Direct-to-video.

So, I just made an account so I could ask some questions... I ordered the DVD trunk, got it on Monday. Watched AoE, wasn't too bad. Went to watch the original, and... The menu is all messed up. Like, it doesn't fit my TV screen. I don't have a flat/widescreen TV. Is that the problem? And even worse, the actual movie is all messed up. Like, their speaking and their mouths don't match. It's slightly off. Not horribly, but enough for me to notice and for it to get on my nerves. Lol.

Did this only happen to me, or what? Just curious...

Called and spoke to 'Ry' and he verified that it is a known problem and some of them that went out the door have 2.0 audio instead of 5.1. Anyone like that should call and speak to him and he will get replacements sent out when they come into the warehouse (he said I was the second person to call).

Good to see they owned up to the error and didn't just pass it off like it was no big deal.

Cool, so I'm guessing he took down all your info? Also, did he give you an estimate as to when the fixed versions will be ready?

I was just going to post if anyone knew anything about the standalone release of the first film on Blu-Ray, since it popped up on Full Moon's site.

Eh, I've come across a handful. I've run across more issues with subtitles being messed up where they start showing the time. In most of those cases, they were from Troma.

I'm not holding my breath for a BD release of all the films unless they simply upconvert the current (crappy) DVD masters. This is Full Moons first two BDs, and so far, they are duds (not only for the audio error, but the Picture Quality is pretty bleh). What's funny, is Axis pulls a scene from the first film, and it's pretty clear they did more work on that scene for Axis then the first film.

The better question I have is how can Full Moon stay in business?

Like Troma, they're another studio that I wish had a third-party (Blue Underground, Shout Factory, etc) releasing its films on Blu-ray/DVD/whatever.

They pump out crap films that fans eat up? Merchandising probably helps them, just like being the sole place to really buy Full Moon DVDs (Do stores even sell these?)

We had a small batch of Blu-Rays go out with incorrect audio. I am waiting for a reprint and then I will send you correct copies. Please feel free to keep the one you have.
