I wonder if this is something Sony could quietly reissue by replacing the current discs with an updated one with the Theatrical subs... (and of course offer a replacement to existing owners)

Not that this is a trade thread, but I'm looking to move my UK steelbook as well. PM if you have a trade list or make a reasonable offer.

Seems very unlikely if Sony has released this several times using the same master and subs. I would guess that only a handful of people on forums like DVD Talk even know or care about the changed subtitles.

But if they ever do issue a BD with the theatrical subs I'll double dip. Otherwise, as I said upthread, the new subs aren't all that bad.

So what is the difference between the 2006 C.T.H.D. release and the 2010 release? Sounds like both have incorrect subtitles, is the difference just an added commentary track on the 2010 version?

^Yes, I believe that is so.

FWIW, I have the UK steelbook and it defaults to the English dubbed track (whose idea was that?) whereas the new US release defaults to Mandarin with subs, as I would greatly prefer. I'm not sure about the 2006 release, since I've never seen it.
