I've not seen this since the orig DVD was released back in the "20th" Century. Even then, it was essential viewing. Gotta agree with Kenshiro on this one. This should be an amazing disc.

Are they going to be remastering this a'la Minority Report? I thought that was the plan for all the Spielberg movies on BD. In any case, I hope they dont Gladiator the transfer.

This is one of the few titles day one pricing doesn't matter. I'll be watching it that evening. I've already purchased this movie 4 times, this will make 5:
VHS to
Standard DVD to
DTS DVD
"upgraded" to the special box set not realizing I was losing the DTS sound.

This will be my 4th time purchasing SPR. The only difference from you was that I didn't have it on VHS. I am surprised that you say you lost the DTS soundtrack when you go the box set. I got the box set because it had DTS. Did they come out with more than one box set? The set I got had some other DVD with it (that I've since got rid of) and a little booklet. SPR itself was in an ammo box type of case. The identical looking case that was sold separately apart from the box set did not have DTS, only Dolby.

I was a little disappointed that it didn't win the Oscar that year but once I watched Shakespeare in Love I could not argue that it was not worthy of the Oscar itself, that was a great movie also.

It had 2 other documentary titles plus the movie. I though the movie was supposed to have DTS but my copy does not.

Well I got screwed then because mine does not have it. There is no DTS logo on the box or the disc and I just double checked the setup menu to make sure I wasn't mistaken and there is no DTS track, just DD 5.1.
