Blu-Ray Double Dip List

I'm just getting started with my Blu-Ray collection. I only have about 20 so far. I'm late to the party so I want to make sure I get the "right" editions of my favorite movies. So, I was wondering if there is a site that lists double-dips for Blu-Ray. Or we could start a list here. I'm talking about any movie that has been released more than once. It could be that it was initially released with no extras and then a deluxe edition came out. Or there was originally an error on the disc and it has now been corrected, etc.

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

Not a whole lot to be honest (That I can remember).

Gangs of NY (new transfer)
No Country for Old Men (few new extras)
The Fifth Element (new transfer)
Stranger Then Fiction (few new extras)

A few others were replaces because of errors on the disc (Iron Man, Pirates of the Carribean 1).

Terminator 2
Full Metal Jacket
I Am Legend
300
X-Men 3
Harry Potter And The Sorcerers Stone
Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets
Superman Returns (upgraded with lossless audio)
Natural Born Killers (original release was theatrical cut in digibook, re-release was unrated director's cut in regular packaging)

Goodfellas (same BD, now in digibook packaging with a bonus DVD)
A Christmas Story and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation have also been released twice, but they kept the same BD disc each time as well....

Thanks for all the responses.

I'm only aware of the Skynet Edition for T2. Is the other version newer or older?

Older (and no longer in print)...it was the theatrical cut only, did not have lossless audio, and only had two audio commentary tracks for bonus features...

What error in Iron Man?

Well, I don't think it hit retail as they were pulled, but apparently the disc wouldn't play in certain players. I still have my original disc (reviewers were sent new copies) because I had no issues with it.

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

You might also want to look out for titles that got simultaneously released versions in different configurations. For instance, Gone with the Wind got at least 3 different versions, with different amounts of extras/different packaging. Some Disney titles have gotten separate versions with or without the digital copy and/or DVD (like Wall-E). Then there are steelbooks, if you like those... Oh hell, don't buy ANYTHING without doing some searches first.

I'm aware of store exclusives and releases with multiple versions. I just want to avoid getting a bare bones release when there is a special edition out there, or a version that is somehow defective. For example:

T2 (older version vs. Skynet Edition)
Iron Man (defective version vs. corrected version)

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

In most cases the 'older' version is long gone off retail shelves.

Thanks for clearing that out. I thought there was an issue with the released disc.
