Not only does that "Ultimate Collector's Edition" version come with a Digital Copy, but it also has a whole bunch of new bonus features and is actually a three disc set (two BDs, and one Digital Copy disc).....

Sort of, but they're just the individual discs from the boxed set. The extras disc is only in the set.

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

I think the definition of "double dip" is getting stretched here, though I guess to each his own when it comes to the definition....

I personally don't count different packaging configurations as "double dips"....strictly by definition, I only consider a title a true "double dip" if the actual BD is upgraded in some form...either by an improved visual transfer/lossless audio upgrade, or added bonus materials.....

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

Yeah, I think it's technically a double-dip when they try to get you to rebuy something, but probably not the point of the OP. I decided not to list stuff like Mamma Mia (then again--I never bought that movie so maybe it does have extra stuff on the new version).

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

None yet for me though I only have 12-13 BR. I am trying to hold of and keep telling myself that I will only double dip is if its a blow your socks off kind of upgrade, not to DD just for the sake of having the movie in blu ray.

See, that gets back to my argument....
Some people may argue differently, but going from a DVD to a BD is definitely NOT a "double dip" IMO, as that is a completely different format...and this thread is intended to list films on Blu-ray Disc that have had more than one release on Blu-ray Disc....
If you consider going from DVD to BD as a "double dip", than virtually every title becomes a double dip (other than day and date new releases since the format launched)...

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

That's cool I understand your logic and respect your opinion. However to me a DD is buying the same movie more than once. Regardless of formats..

Re: Blu-Ray Double Dip List

Originally, what I was concerned about were different releases where something has been fixed or added. I just recently started collecting Blu-Rays and I don't want to end up with the crappier version of a movie if there's a better version out there.

So far, thanks to this thread, I know I got the corrected versions of Iron Man, Terminator 3 and Superman Returns. I also know that I got the better version of T2 (Skynet Edition). This is the sort of info I was looking for.

I also remember reading that The Shining and Bram Stoker's Dracula had issues with their transfers. Does anyone know what these issues were? Were they re-released?
