I like it somewhat...it's a bad film...but I'm entertained by certain elements and it's the special featuers w/ RR that makes me want the film moreso than the film itself.

I enjoyed Once Upon a Time in Mexico but it is not in the league of Desperado. The main problem is that OUATIM seems to be building up to something big but never truly delivers. This is mainly evident through El Marichi himself who's mostly sidelined and seems to be waiting 'til he's allowed to cut loose. But that cathartic moment of action mayhem never comes. Instead we ge a group of small scale personal battles intercut with snippets of a large scale battle that's never properly addressed.
I was far more invested in Ruben Blades' character than I was in anyone else in the whole film. And he's supposed to be a supporting character.

Hey,
Has anyone got the El Mariachi/Desperado Blu Ray? Is it worth an upgrade over DVD?
I've read lots of reviews that say El Mariachi contains a "Spanish" sound track, but is it the same Latin American Spanish track as the previous DVDs? I understand Mexican and European Spanish sound different..
I enjoyed all 3 films but havent seen them for a long time.
