From Shout! Factory:

The A-Lister Of B-Movies
We’re thrilled to announce that we have joined forces with the venerable Roger Corman to release over 50 highly sought-after films under the series title Roger Corman’s Cult Classics. The first releases in the series come in May with the Ramones classic Rock ’N’ Roll High School (on DVD and Blu-ray) and Suburbia, featuring a very young Flea and performances by punk bands The Vandals, D.I. and T.S.O.L. These are followed in June by Death Race 2000 (DVD and Blu-ray) and a double feature of Warlords Of The 21st Century/Death Sport. We’re working closely with Mr. Corman to remaster the films and produce the best possible bonus features. Future titles include a Piranha Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray, a 30th Anniversary Special Edition DVD of Humanoids From The Deep, Up From The Depths, Demon Of Paradise, Forbidden World and Galaxy Of Terror, amongst others.

Are we getting Suburbia on blu also? Maybe at last we can get the 1.85:1 flat version since it seems that it was filmed this way then open matte for home video.

FYI.... Not only was it moved to play off of the new release date for PIRANHA 3-D, but it's given us more time to add more to the disc. There were things that weren't going to make it onto the disc, so the Weinstein moving the film to a new date made me happy :)

This was the first VHS pre record I ever bought (in 1983 - ugh!) and every release since then has been missing two small lines of dialogue in the first reel. They almost seem like TV edits. I hope the blu ray finally has 'em back.

After Miss Togar introduces herself as the new principal a voice from the crowd says "Oh shit"
Later as Tom Roberts is talking to himself ("I need to broaden my horizons") after Riff walks past he pauses and says "I need to get laid".
Only about 2 seconds missing, but its always bugged me.

Shout also set street dates for the Blu-ray editions of 'Death Race 2000' (June 22) and 'Starcrash' (September 7).

The first Blu-ray release by Shout Factory of a Roger Corman production will therefore be 'Rock 'N' Roll High School', due out on May 4.

i think the STARCRASH info is new.

Amazon pulled the item (same with piranha)

I had rock and roll high school and piranha in my wishlist and both changed to a "no longer available" image.

PIRANHA moved to August to match up with the PIRANHA 3-D release and to allow us to add more content to the release...... like the additional scenes that were added to the network television version of PIRANHA!!

ROCK N ROLL blu ray is moving because it has been very difficult to find useable source material. We'd find elements and then they'd be in terrible condition. Some of them would take five or six figures to restore.
I will say that unlike the Disney version it will be anamorphic widesceen...and not just on the back cover :)

As you know, most of these films were shot low budget and we have spent days on some transfers color correcting each shot! One minute the film looks great and then the next shot... is entirely green... like Green-o-vision.... or the whole element has turned magenta. Let's just say I'm almost entirely grey.

I want to ensure you get the best possible release and that just takes a little extra time.

I think you'll all be happy with the end result.

From http://www.horrorbid.com/blog/blog1....-series-gettin

According to Hockstatter, Shout! Factory will re-release the Slumber Party Massacre trilogy as special edition DVDs, tentatively scheduled for an October release. The fun slasher series has developed a cult following, but the DVDs have been out of print for years. Jason Paul Collum is directing an extensive, three-part supplementary documentary. There is also an “ultimate fan” contest being held...

Follow up:

The DVD releases are said to include the following special features:

* All-new interviews with cast, crew and FX personnel from the series
* Vintage never-before-seen interviews
* Behind-the-scenes footage and photographs
* a featurette featuring visits to the original shooting locations
* Audio commentary on the plethora of knockoffs that followed the release of these films such as: THE LAST SLUMBER PARTY, SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE and our personal favorite, THE SORORITY HOUSE SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE
* "Sleepless Nights: Revisiting the Slumber Party Massacres" three-part documentary
* Audio commentaries for each film moderated by fansite webmaster and documentary producer, Tony Brown

The contest ends February 14th so act fast! Click HERE for contest rules, requirements, and to download a release form to accompany you submission.

Please stay tuned for official cover art and the final special feature tally once they're been revealed!

i know this says it's a dvd release....i'm hoping for a BD release the same day.
