I don't know how I feel about a company that uses iWeb to publish it's website.

I typically don't mess with importing DVDs/Blus from other regions. However, this movie is one of the very few I'd make an exception for. Especially on Blu.

Just noticed they're playing Suspiria on CinemaxHD this month. Anyone seen it? How's the transfer?

^ I recorded it one night, but after noticing it was cropped, I just deleted it. I wasn't going to bother.

I hate it when MaxHD does that. They did it last month with Halloween II and Halloween III. Guess I'll be deleting my recording as well.

Why? Ordering from Amazon UK is as easy as ordering from Amazon US.

I find it kind of insulting to the film that they have "Taking Trash Seriously" right on the cover... Just my opinion.

I agree completely. It reminds me of the Ed Wood 'Salute to Incompetence' box set.

The answer is in, and it will be Region B locked so only you lucky folks in the US with multi-region Blu-Ray players will be able to partake in this.

Not shocked by this given the Weinsteins own the Region A rights...oh well. That's why I have a region free player :)

This put me over the edge to order a region-free player.

The reviewer didn't sound too blown away by the transfer. I might wait on more reviews before ordering it from Amazon UK.

Well, I don't have a region-free Blu-Ray player (I use my PS3, which I got for free in a contest my work was running), not to mention the HDTV my family doesn't play PAL (I understand that that won't affect HD content, but more often than not, extras tend to be in SD, which is affected, and if I'm purchasing something, I don't want to be restricted on what I can and can't view). It's not really in my budget to purchase all-new equipment just so I can buy one movie from another continent, when I'm happy enough with what I have now. So this means I can't get Suspiria on Blu-Ray yet. It's a shame. However, I can wait for the Weinsteins (or another company, assuming TWC goes under and they have to sell off the library) to put one out.

Ditto. Even with the flaws, I'm still looking forward to it. I still have my Anchor Bay set even if this doesn't turn out to be that great...

Re: Suspiria - January 2010?

cracksky: did you order from Amazon.co.uk? I had one order for something else entirely ship from there on Jan. 10th with an estimated delivery of Jan. 20th...still no sign of it as of the 25th. Suspiria -- along with a fairly massive stack of other stuff -- is supposed to be here on Wednesday, but if one Blu-ray disc is almost a week off-schedule and counting, I'm skeptical the larger box will be here anytime soon. :( It's a drag because amazon.co.uk usually ships astonishingly quickly. (Also strangely: an order I placed at the same time through HMV shipped on the 10th and was here on the 18th.)
