I have to agree...I would suggest renting this one first.

I didn't hate it...but I thought it was incredibly mediocre. There were a couple of hits...but the majority of the movie missed big time for me. I've actually seen it twice. Once at home (rental) and once on a plane. I was hoping the second viewing would change my opinion...but unfortunately it didn't. I did like most of the music though. It was especially nice to hear The Temper Trap...I love that album.

I have friends who are hardcore action and loved both Transformers movies, friends who wet themselves over the Dark Knight, and many who loved the Reader and couldn't understand why people didn't think it deserved the oscar nom. But from all of these groups, I'm positive this movie was the mostly highly rated movie of the year on average. Everyone seemed to either like it or love it and no one was unhappy having spent the money to see it.

So, technically, that a large sample of people on average rated this higher, I'm not suggesting it should win an Academy Award, but it sure was a very good movie and one of my favorite movies now.

One of the few films where I don't get how someone couldn't enjoy the movie, at the very least, if not love it.

On the Bluray disc, when I watch the SD featurettes, for some reason they are off-center, windowboxed slightly to the left of the screen. The black area on the right side is way larger than the left. Anyone else have this problem? I've never seen this happen on any other BDs I have.

I'm not saying I didn't like this movie. But I found the subject matter hard to watch because it reminded me of being someone's "bitch" like that in the past. But I enjoyed the ending, reminded me of when I met my wife.

Might be your TV. I know mine lets me move the picture around depending on which picture size I've selected. Try the arrow keys on your TV remote.

I noticed this as well, but only on the conversation pieces between Joseph and Zooey.

This is the only Fox BD I have.
But looking at "Juno" on DVDBeaver, looks like this disc also has this problem.
Is Fox just bad at framing things?

I have had the same "centering" issues on the SD features using a Samsung Plasma TV and Sony BluRay player.
