More of just letting it build up without keeping track of anything. It was actually 3 months or so. I'm all caught up now, I think, and at 9,722.

Re: Watchmen: Ultimate Cut - 11/3

i wanted to make a new thread but i dont want people yelling at me so hopefully this will work...simple question, what the hell is going on with this blu ray???

all of a sudden they disappeared off the shelves, and all sites stopped carrying it and i guess returned them to WB, but i dont even see it on the wb site either anymore. so were they returned and destroyed? was something wrong with them? is there another version coming out? was there ever an official explanation?

There was a fire-sale of all remaining copies earlier this year at Best Buy and Amazon and it is now officially out-of-print.

It was an unnumbered limited edition; it had, I think, 70,000 copies produced.

I didnt know that, Not that it matters, I didnt care for the "Ultimate Cut" and just have the Director's Cut & Motion Comics on Blu. I need to get the Black Frieghter Blu to have the complete collection

Agreed.

The Ultimate Cut set was a large disappointment imo. No option to view the regular Directors cut through branching, nor Black Freighter on its own (might as well have included the retail disc rather than another digital copy)

Im pefectly satsified with the regular Blu

Re: Watchmen: Ultimate Cut - 11/3

I got the Ultimate edition on DVD, mostly for the Dave Gibbons commentary track.

As for the movie itself, the "Black Freighter" footage didn't really add a lot to the experience and seemed a little distracting. The new live action footage added to integrate the Black Freighter footage seemed poorly done and clumsily edited in.

Re: Watchmen: Ultimate Cut - 11/3

I watched the Ultimate Cut a couple of weeks ago and the Black Freighter segments really pulled me out of the movie. I also didn't think much of the lead in footage. I think the Director's Cut is the best way to go.

While I was in Hong Kong, I picked up the Theatrical Cut on Blu-Ray (which also includes the viral videos). I now have every variant of this film on Blu (Theatrical, Director's Cut, Ultimate Cut, Motion Comic & Black Freighter/Under The Hood).

I do too, but I find them fascinating because I find myself picturing him laying out the black sheet, spending hours laying everything out etc.

I'm also always fascinated by the concept of buying 10 copies of one movie when you could, you know, buy one copy of 10 different movies.

I went through international Ebay with no luck finding an import. Maybe a silly question here; are the menus and packaging in Italian?
