As for Leon: The Professional, it is an entirely different matter - as great a film as it is it is nowhere near as popular as something like The Lord of the Rings.

Well that's what Bill Hunt said and what everyone else has been saying on other forums, but I guess there hasn't been any confirmation so I apologize for assuming. Still, to say "nobody will buy it" isn't exactly proof of anything. Of course people will buy inferior Blu-Rays, it happens every day.

Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to know whether some random dude is an insider or whatever? Look at my post count dude, don't expect everybody to know everything about this place, especially when your only response is a 4 word sentence with no explanation whatsoever. No need to be such a jerk.
If you're new to a forum and two different long-time members tell you he's the source, well, STFU about it and move on.

A friend over at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has e-mailed me today with an update on the studio's forthcoming Blu-ray Disc release of The Professional (due on 11/17). The information on the studio's press site was apparently inaccurate. We're pleased to inform you all that Sony's confirmed that the BD release will actually be Leon: The Professional, and will include BOTH the much-loved international cut as well as the U.S. theatrical version. This is in addition to the extras we mentioned yesterday, which should include 3 featurettes (10 Year Retrospective: Cast and Crew Look Back, Jean Reno: The Road to Leon and Natalie Portman: Starting Young), as well as a BD-Java Fact Track. That's very good news indeed for fans, which we definitely are.

So .. basically the same cover art as the deluxe edition DVD. Pretty lazy of Sony, but I guess it could have been worse.

Thanks. Damn nice price. I'll preorder and see if anywhere else has it that cheap.

I hadn't considered upgrading Leon, but at that price, definitely.
