Already announced, but here are a few early details on special features, from DVD Times:
Paramount Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of It’s A Wonderful Life on 3rd November 2009. This classic directed by Frank Capra and starring James Stewart comes to Blu-ray with the following features:
* B&W & Colourized versions
* The Making of It's A Wonderful Life
* Theatrical Trailer
Although not listed we suspect you’ll also find the ‘A Personal Remembrance’ featurette on the disc as well (this is of course TBC).

For the one time a year I watch this movie I'll stick with the regular DVD. I upgraded Polar Express and Christmas Vacation to HD-DVD because they were cheap and I'll watch CV 3 or 4 times.

I might have to bite because this is one of my most-watched films simply because I have watched it once a year for the last 20-something years. Might as well have the best presentation possible.

I'd like to get it too, but I swear this HAS to be the last time I buy this movie, I've gotten it 3 times now. This will be the 4th time!

I agree that the inclusion of the colorized version is wrong. It is unfair to the film and those who made it. At the same time, even as it makes me extremely upset I am glad a Blu-ray release is even coming out at all. It's a win-lose situation for true film lovers but if the studio is ignorant enough to think that the inclusion of a colorized version of the film is necessary in order to make them look like fools in true film lovers eyes - they are wrong, the lack of supplements related to the appreciation and history of the film is telling enough, and it is clear they can't fully appreciate this great film for all of it's immeasurable worth.
Nonetheless I will be purchasing this release as it is one of the greatest films of all time. It can truly speak for itself.

I love how you can read some of the newspaper text now. It doesn't seem to match the headline.
Although I also find the colorized version useless, at least they had the sense to put it on a separate disc so it didn't affect the bitrate of the B&W version. I don't think it made the price higher either. So, I really have no complaints there.

No huge deal except for completests like me, but it loses the 15-minute special tribute to Frank Capra, "A Personal Remembrance from Frank Capra Jr."

I was planning on getting this, but now will probably wait. I was wondering what anyone who has actually watched the BD thinks of the PQ?
