What the hell is the big lady?
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
some waitress that doesn't get tipped....
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Jackie Brown is $10 at Walmart.com. Time to tell the Big Lady about a lower price.
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Wally still needs to bring down Pulp though. Its still $15.86. The Big Lady wins this one.
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Amazon just put Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown up for pre-order, $13.99 each...This currently beats Walmart's deal if you pre-order both online from them, which is $32.26 after taxes and shipping ($15.86 for Pulp and $10.00 for JB)

Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
JB dropped to 10.49
PF up to 15.99 glad I preordered both |
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Jackie Brown popped up in my amazon gold box for 9.97 not a huge difference from 10.49 but still not bad at all
Is it safe to assume if the preorder price drops below my GB price they'll honor the lowest price ? I know the regular preorder price has a guarantee than they honor the lowest price but I'm not sure about gold box preorders |
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
yes. They'll lower it.
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
not only will they lower it but they'll take off the difference your GB deal gave you too

Judging from those caps, the PQ on the Panorama release looks much better...

Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
...uhm..is it me or does PF and also JB look kind of..."soft" in some of those caps?
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
I may be incorrect but it almost seems like they were attempting to mimic the look of a film shot on reversal stock...interesting.

Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Blu-Ray.com review. The pics look better than the DVD beaver review, so who do you trust?
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
I've read that DVD Beaver compresses their caps, but Blu-ray.com is often too forgiving and full of idiots.
I'll trust my own eyes since there's no fucking way I'm not buying both of these. |
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Looks good to me. Got them coming from Amazon. Can't wait. Our long journey of waiting for these two (I started this thread 2 years ago when they were supposed to come out the first time) is almost over.

blu-ray.com posters are being ridiculous about this. I think people are looking at the release of the HK/Polish disc and using that as the gold standard for how PF should look - for no other reason then that they came out first.
Basically they go from "I have Pulp Fiction on Blu and you don't! to having a $60 piece of crap with a dated 2002 HD transfer and hideous foreign logos on their shelf and they go into standard denial mode and create problems that aren't there. |

Check out the Superman Anthology for a particularly egregious instance of this. I'm usually not one for packaging OCD issues but Christ. But yeah, for many people those logos are a badge of honor. |

A short interview with Robert Forster talking about Jackie Brown and an upcoming project.

no but domestic logos/ratings aren't forced to be huge and plastered on the spine and all over the front cover

Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
To anyone who bought these....impressions?
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
Picked mine both up from Moviestop (9.99 each if reserved together)... only had time for Pulp Fiction last night, but I enjoyed it... dont know if it was just the blu ray or the home theater, but I caught a lot of background audio that I hadnt heard before in the movie, or hadnt paid attention to
|
Re: The Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown thread
I watched a good chunk of Pulp Fiction and the a/v was good but I wasn't blown away.
