I've Gone Blu! (LG 390) But I need wireless/wired help!
Just picked up this wonderful little toy over the weekend. So far so good!
It has an internal wireless component and I have a Linksys WRT160N router in another room about 20 feet away. My Wii in the basement picks up the signal clear as a bell.
When trying to access LG features, though, it just says "weak connection" and can't stream anything for more than a couple seconds.
I'm getting a bit over 10 mbs download through my DSL service....
Heartbroken that I may have to run a 50 foot Cat5/6 cable around my baseboards....any ideas?

Check out the thread on AVS...others are having similar problems. How long has it been since you updated the firmware in your router?

Hmmmm, ummmm....never.
I'll look into this.
I'm just sad...one of the reasons I picked this up was due to wireless capability.

Update your router and see if it works. Most people never do and they sit with the same firmware for years because who really every goes back in and changes settings? Luckily my Apple Extreme one tells me when to update.

Gizmo, you are so cool!
I'll try when I get home, does it matter that I just got the router, like, 4 months ago?...by the way, before I go the wired route (which, of course, is recommended by LG), is there just a stronger router I could buy that might do the trick, too?
The thing that freaks me out is that there's a CAT5 jack right 2 feet right behind the unit that I was hoping to use. The jack is a double jack, along with the cable inputs. I stupidly thought it might work, since I vaguely remember someone using it to connect to the internet awhile back...
But I will try the firmware update first.
Thanks!

Another option is to bridge the connection...I did that in my place. I have an Apple Extreme ROUTER and an Apple Express which (I set it up for) extends the signal to my HT. I remember my 370 being about 150 feet from my Router and streaming worked fine via Netflix.

In one of the AVS threads, they mention a "powerline adapter kit", which is kinda pricey...is this the same thing?

Well, there are tons of bridges you can buy. An Apple Express is about $80 new. But maybe you need a new router first....

Called LG, unplugged and rebooted the 390 and also reset router...and it worked perfectly.
Router was reset without security and simply with a network name of "lyncsys".
Renamed and set security on router and now it's back to doing what it did before!
Ugh!
Any ideas?

Hmm...Maybe you need to specify a port or IP Address for the BD390 to go through?

I'm not really familiar with this stuff so i'm just taking a random stab, but what kind of security are you using on the router? WPA-2? If it failed once the security settings were enabled, maybe seeing if using TKIP over AES encryption makes a difference.
Regarding the supposed network port you have, in my parents house, it's wired with Cat5 so that there are jacks for network and phone, but they all lead back to a specific switch (in this case, the master bedroom closet) so we put the router there where we can use wired connections. If you have the wiring done, I imagine that has to run somewhere right?
