I didn't need to know any of that to enjoy the movie, plenty of stuff in other movies has happened coincidentally or without explanation. Sometimes you just have to sit back and enjoy it for what it is.

Just watched the film with audio commentary last night. Both of these questions were addressed. As for when Nero knew Spock would exit the wormhole
As for the coincidence of Spock and Kirk reuniting
These points were originally part of the film, but had to be dropped for pacing's sake. I'm pretty impressed with the filmmaker's attention to such details and cannot believe that the screenwriters also wrote the Transformers movies. I can only blame Michael Bay for fucking those up.

Re: Star Trek: Nov 17
Just picked a bluray player tonight with Star Trek
Anyone else have a misprinted 3rd disc? My Disc 3, says Disc 1 "Feature Film and Special Features" and instead of saying Bluray it says DVD. At first I got excited thinking that Star Trek was a Bluray Combo Pack like the Disney film, but it turns out my Disc 3 was labeled wrong. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how common this is.

I know I'm a lil' late to the party here, but having no prior exposure to anything Star Trek related till tonight, I must admit that the new movie was cussing awesome.
Having liked this movie so much, would you recommend i watch the older Star Trek films? If so, which ones? how about the TV series?

Saw it in theater and loved it, watched it on Blu today and loved it even more. Great movie, however I will say that the overuse of lens flares bugged the shit out of me. Other then that I loved it!

I haven't seen any in-store without the slipcover yet. It's actually shrink-wrapped to the case, so if it's supposed to still include it, it will still include it.

Ditto. Shrink-wrapped to the case. And as I'd guess it'd have to cuz the case doesn't say Star Trek it just has Kirk on the front and Spock on the Back.

Re: Star Trek: Nov 17
yeah you`re right, that would look sort of odd!
how did they handle this with the iron man bluray?
i am it also only had tony stark pictured under the sleeve,
are there any newer versions without sleeve for that title?

what's up with the audio?? The dynamic range seems abbreviated, the IMAX mix was incredible, on bluray - the lossless Dolby TrueHD tracks sound lacklustre.

There's nothing wrong or "lackluster" with the Blu-ray soundtrack. You just don't have a subwoofer at home the size of those they use in the IMAX theaters.
