Hey Sony! How about a 10th Anniversary "Jawbreaker" BD/DVD?
Jawbreaker has always been a favorite of mine. It fits right in with Heathers and Mean Girls. Seeing as how the original pressing of the DVD with the 16x9 enhanced 1.85:1 transfer has been out of print for several years now, it seems like a good time for a rerelease, especially now being the 10th anniversary. The DVD that's available now (with only a 1.33:1 open-matte transfer) has a limited number of extras, including a director's commentary track and the trailer. I'd love to hear a cast commentary with Rose McGowan, Rebecca Gayheart, Julie Benz, and Judy Greer. New interviews, deleted scenes, etc. Anything would be good.

I actually enjoyed this film enough to bite (see what I did there?) on a BD.

I watched part of this the other day and I thought it sucked. Even with Rose "Smokin' Hot" McGowan in it the film couldn't hold my attention.

I bought the original DVD for $5 a few years ago and couldn't make it past the first 30 minutes - I was expecting a HEATHERS but got...well, whatever this was supposed to be. I doubt there is much of a following to justify a 10th anniversary edition, but stranger things have happened.

Can't Hardly Wait is a much bigger film than Jawbreaker. CHW did okay theatrical business but was a big hit at home. Jawbreaker bombed in theaters and on video.

Can't Hardly Wait is a favorite of mine. Heathers was great too.
Jawbreaker was... blah. I bought the WS/FS flipper of it at Big Lots for $3. Just like mdc3000, I couldn't get past the first thirty minutes. It was that bad.

Well, Jawbreaker finally got a Blu-ray release (April 5, 2011) and I'm just now finding out about it a month after the fact. I'm glad Image finally did the right thing after (re)releasing it on DVD last December in open-matte only. For those of you who have it, is it a 1080p transfer? How's it look? Is the director's commentary from the DVD carried over?

No bonus material has been carried over.
However, from reviews I've read, PQ/AQ are outstanding with a 1080p transfer and DTS-HD MA 5.1 track. It's nice to see Sony give Image the best material to work with unlike other studios (ahem, Buena Vista and Mill Creek, Miramax and Lionsgate/Echo Bridge, ahem).

It is very possible that Sony had already created the video encode and let Image use it on their release. Image on their own is very hit-or-miss for picture quality.
