I sell 'em on Amazon if I can get a decent profit, otherwise give away to friends.

I sell the SD DVD unless it has a lot of extra material not ported over to the blu-ray version.

Odd, lately my old SD DVDs have simply stopped working when I get a Blu-ray edition. Last one burned up like something out of Mission Impossible.

Sir, you are a genius! I just bought 500 sleeves and decided to go this route.

I've honestly kept a lot of my DVDs that I upgraded to Blu, mainly for two reasons:

1) Portability. I like to bring a movie or two over with me when hanging out at a friend's house to watch, and the majority of my friends don't have a Blu-Ray player.

2) I'm a completist when it comes to extras and bonus features, and if the Blu-Ray doesn't carry over all the bonus features, I'll hang onto the DVD to be able to access them.

I put them in a new row behind the DVDs on display on the shelf and pretend I'm going to sell them someday.

That is what I have been doing since day one of DVD's and as soon as I have something upgrade I will decide what to do with the standard dvd.

Gave a bunch to my brothers, sold a bunch in lots on eBay. I'll keep all the DVDs that aren't good enough to warrant the price of a BD, and some special editions (LotR: EE, Gladiator 3-disc, etc.)

Same here. I try to sell, but if I can't get $3 on half.com, I give to friends. And if no on wants 'em I donate them to my local library.

I fry 'em up in some peanut oil, add a light dusting of salt, and snack away.

I've also been known to take them into work and sell them for about $5 each. Sometimes I can make a pretty good chunk o' change.
